CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Haven't been to the epsom market for years now. My mum used to take me when I was little so i don't really remember much of it.

Me neither...I generally have a look at the shops in Central Plaza...or at Marong. But, I do like Strath Village. Then...you get Win TV the same as me!

Cool as....I was on the win news on friday the 26th of march. It was to do with the Bendigo World's Longest Lunch. I was one of the tafe students who got to help out with the makin and cooking of the food and serving. I was decked out in full chef's uniform. It was such a blast!!

So Life in Bendigo is pretty good. I'm only here for study. I'm studying Commercial Cookery at Brit (tafe). Its weird here, I'm from a small country town so bendigo seems like a huge city to me!! And its weird livin away from my parents at such a young age as well. I'm growing up oh so fast!!!
I haven't come across the statue of Queen Victoria yet......maybe after tafe tomorrow i'll go check it out.....

Good idea! Many of the young ones from my small town go to to Bendigo to study. They all say the same. Life isn't the same without Mum & Dad. Have you been to The Bendigo Market Place yet? Up near the Railway? Also....must ask you this if you watch Win...have you see the ads for Matthew Webb Pharmacy?
And...how do you like Gillies Pies? If you haven't tried them...have a go! They are beaut when you buy them straight from Gillies Corner in The Mall.

Yeah the market place is cool, actually I've just come from there. We got the ads for matthew webb pharmacy back at home. They're a crack up!! I've heard gillies pies are good but I haven't tried them yet. Savin them for a cold winter day!!

Know what? I went into the Pharmacy one day and asked if he were in. The girl said he wasn't and could she help me. I said..."Well...I was just wondering if I could have whatever he's on....."

Melbourne is an alright city to live if u like the busy, crowded in type of atmosphere. I personally don't. I'd much prefer to live in perth or adelaide coz I feel they are a more relaxed and have a country feel to them which i'm used to.

Hi m4! I used to love going down to Word Bookshop in Melbourne. There are two there, I forget which one I went to. There's one more this side of Melbourne I think.. but...oooooh...the traffic!!!

i used to go to Bendigo every weekend, as for good resteraunts in Benigo there is this really good Chineese place there
i dont know exactly where it is but i think its sort of near the town hall or something near the library maybe i'll see if i can find out exactly where it is. when i found out they do all you can eat dinner on tuesdays i think but dont quote me on that, but as soon as i found that out it was like the coolest joint in town, as when it comes to food im a big fan of 'quantity' i like quality but quantity is a must.

Aspendale Gardens - which is way down in the south east, far away from everything else
In other news, my sister recently moved to Wodonga and there is a good Chinese place she goes to on the way down here to visit, in Seymour I think.
I spend a LOT of time on the road due to my work, and IMHO Melbourne traffic isn't that bad usually. Here are some roads that I avoid:
Burnley St, Richmond - a traffic nightmare due to traffic coming off freeway. I use Yarra Blvd or Stawell St instead
Warrigal Rd/ Centre Dandenong Rd intersection, Cheltenham - clogged during arvo peak. Unfortunately hard to avoid for Moorabbin Airport area
Toorak Rd - avoid anytime day or night. I use Domain Rd
Chapel St north of Princes Hwy - avoid. Use Hotham St
Wells Rd, Aspendale Gardens - use Governor Rd to get to freeway
