IU know this issue may have come up millions of times, so i'm sorry in advance
I came across one of those video things on the bottom of the windows live messanger thing. It was about Mel Gibson, and his recent interview, about that infamous day when he said those anit-semitic statements, and insinuations.
This got me thinking, I love Mel Gibson, I think he is a great actor, a great director and a great family man. But it's funny how out of all the good some one could do, one little thing can bring them down. With the money he got from 'The passion of the christ", he built a church. He built a church.
now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying what he said was right, I'm just saying, this world focuses on the bad. The darker side. With a cup half empty attitude. Why can't we focus on the Good?
Further more, If anyone else would have got drunk, said the exact same thing to a police officer, would he be attacked by everyone? I'd say No.
Mel is just another guy, he gets in the spot light because of his achievements and talent but why should he get it especially worse? He's just another guy, not a representitive of the whole human race.
In the interview, he states that the whole incidence was a blessing,
"Some times you need a cold bucket of water in your face to really wake up to your self. In this case, public humiliation." (slightly paraphrased)
He had been off alcohol, for many years, this year under the pressure he final sucumbed to it. Who are we to judge? Under alot of pressure I'm sure anyone of us would crack. Some people, were probably at home on the lounge, pulling out the 20th beer, and watching what mel had done, and under their breath slurred some rude things about him.
My point is, no ones perfect. How hypricitical are we, if we blast Mel for getting drunk? How hypricitical are we, if we blast mel for saying something against another relgion or race?
Most of you have been there.
I'm sure some where in this train of thought, it has not made any sense.
But I hope you understood what I was getting at.
