Meeting the Right Person

I new to this board, but from the posts that I've read it seems like a great place!

This is probably a thread that has been hashed around before, but I was just wanting to get some comments from you guys on a couple of things.

First I think most of us who do not feel that we have the lifetime gift of singleness, believe that God has someone special just for us. Do we agree on that? Also, do you all believe that God will bring that person into our lives when it is his timing? Meaning that we shouldn't worry about, just sit back a wait upon the Lord and let him move. Or do you all think that we need to put "legs on our prayers", and be out pursuing and meeting people, so that we won't miss the right one.

Also, how do you think we will know when we have met the right one. Do you think it will be a "love at first sight" kind of feeling or do you think we will have so know somone for a period of time before we realize that the are the right person?

A combination of the two.

I'd like to think there is a "love at first exposure to personality" more so than "love at first sight".

you could believe. But God is God. If you are going to wait on Him then He will call the shots. He can say... "single" or "marriage". His choice and He knows me better than I know myself. so the best thing is to wait on Him and I said wait not anything else.

Also, do you all believe that God will bring that person into our lives when it is his timing?

If its God's choice to do so, then it will have to be His own timing definately and praying about it is a wise idea.

Also, how do you think we will know when we have met the right one.

Its funny because 2-3 days ago, i asked my mom about.. "how would you know its the right one." She said, "you will just know."
So, im going to say that you will just know under God's guidance. Im not talking about the "right one" you hear all the time then the marriage is broke few years later. im talking about for keeps! With God... till death. Love my friend. Love... Love. just my two cents.

I don't know if there is a right one, or even a set of possible right ones. So who knows about timing? I hope I know when I have met the right one, but I'm not overly confident that I will. It's more communication and compromise than anything else.
