I soooo need prayer right about now. My finances and my bank account are messed up from someone fraudulently using my bank card.. The bank has not gotten it resolved yet. I'm probably gonna lose my ability to come online soon, and I've not been able to stay a Site Supporter.

Please pray that God resolves it soon. It's like a domino effect. There will be inevitable fees from the bank because of insufficient funds, etc. :sigh:

There is one more thing...my family is a mess..well so am I..we need God's grace in our hearts soooo badly. There's a mess of stubbornness, resentment, anger, that's just bunched together. Please pray for God to intervene, starting with my own heart.

Thank you and God bless you.
Father, I pray that YOU will have your way in Brinny and her family's lives. You know their needs Lord; I pray you will fulfill them according to your perfect will. I pray, Lord God, that you, being the God who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; who was not counting men's sins against them, but who has committed to us the message of reconciliation; I pray, Almighty God, as we are therefore Christ's ambassadors, on Christ's behalf, that you will help each of them to be reconciled to you and to each other. In the name of Jesus I ask these things Lord, for your glory, in the precious name of Jesus, the Christ. Amen.

thank you for your prayers sister  I hope you feel better. I will pray that the Lord heal you from your sickness. Thank you for praying for others and for coming here even though you are sick :D I hope you feel better ;)
Thanx sugar, I appreciate your prayers. I have a back ache that is almost crippling me which is total new for me, but my Kinesiology sister is saying it may be a virus in my muscles ... wow ... never heard of that! I tried connecting with the doctor today because I could barely function, but with no success. I'll hit a clinic tomorrow and hopefully find a cure before it completely floors me. This is sooo not like me. I would appreciate all your prayers, as I think this may be just more of the enemy's work against me because I'm actively seeking to fulfill more of God's will in my life.

I love your love for growth in Christ. Be blessed... n hz name.

Dear Friends

I do so much want this to continue, so I for one will attempt to write something on a regular basis.
My faith is greatly challenged at this time. God is reminding me again that yes HE really loves us and He wants us to live as His Children but there are times when we do sin and need His forgiveness. But how can we do this, by admitting confessing our sins and believing that the sacrifice of Jesus alone can cleanse us from sin and restore our fellowship with God our Father.
This seems simple, but how many of us know what repentance means and I wonder is the Lord speaking to anyone else about this fundamental but essential truth. If so, would you please share your understanding of confession and repentance of sin?

I look forward to your responses?

Confession and repentence of sin would be admitting that you have sinned. Not just saying in a poor attitude, "Yeah sorry for cursing at my friend." When you ask for forgiveness you have to mean it from your heart. You have to trust the Lord and break down the barrier that is between you. Allow the Holy Spirit to come on you and heal your scars. Instead pray with a thankful heart and say, "Thank you Lord for dying for my sins. Jesus because of your blood I can be forgiven. I am sorry for cursing at my friend. Please fill my heart with peace. Give me the patience and humbleness to ask her to forgive me Lord. Hear my cries, I am sorry." So when you see that person or anyone and you seem to get angry you remember that you have been forgiven before. You stay clam and fight the temptation and say, "Lord give me your courage and love when I am weak. Fill my spirit and fill my words with your praise and Glory."

Thank you for praying for me. On Thanksgiving evening we all went to church and were touched by the message and by Holy Spirit. Changes are happening, praise His name. There seems to be more of a mellowness taking place, and a gentle calmness in each person's heart and attitude. Whew! Who would'a thought?

God bless you

I am praying for you! Someone is using your bank card?!?! Did the bank stop your account yet or tracked down where the money is being taken out or spent? That is a very serious issue. How come you can't stay a site supporter? That is not good at all. I pray that whoever is doing this be caught and have to be fined for their wrong doing. I also pray that the Lord help you with your finances during this hard time that you are facing.

I do not think you should have to pay for the insufficient funds. It is not your fault that someone is using your card

I will also be praying for you and your family  I pray that the Lord knit you and your family back together. May the Lord touch your hearts and fill you and your family with joy and peace. I pray that your hearts be filled with love and patience when you are tempted to react in anger. I pray that you will not resent one another but learn to work together and trust one another. May the Lord break the barrier that is upon your family today. You will be in my prayers and thank you for allowing us to pray for you

Thank you so much for praying. The bank card issue has been resolved. It was harrowing in that the bank and the credit card company were not in sync and it wreaked havoc with my account. But praise God it's been resolved. Whew! Praise God!

God is doing a work in my heart and my family's. On Thanksgiving evening when we all went to church, the Holy Spirit ministered to us in a profound way. There are changes happening, and a mellowness and gentleness is apparent in each of us. Praise God!

God bless you!

This reminds me that even when we stray, and commit horrendous deeds, and are rebellious, God is gracious when we return to Him with a contrite spirit and a broken heart because of our sin. David committed some abominable deeds but yet he was the apple of God's eye. Why was that? Because he repented. He went back to his Abba. God is a forgiving God, and when we repent, I picture, just like the father of the prodigal son, His rejoicing over us with singing and having a big ol' celebration and embracing us as His child, who was lost, but now is found.

This is such a powerful description of God's forgiveness and everlasting love. Although we turn away from Him, and follow after our own desires, He never gives up on us. He created mankind in His image because He loves us. His love is not going to stop just because we mess up.

When I read this scripture: I see that these men rebel against God and do not obey his commands. The Lord seeing this did not abandon these men. He knew they were making themselves in idol with the calf. The Lord did not become quick to anger. These men did not listen to the father. God could have said said, "LISTEN YOU ARE DOING WRONG. DO NOT MAKE IDOLS FOR YOURSELVES!" and then strike the men down with his power. I think this scripture shows how much the Lord is willing to help us even when we stray away from him. Even when we try to create idols and not listen to God, he is always near. He is always calling us back and waiting for us to turn to him.

The Lamp of the Body

33"No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. 34Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."

As far as I'm concerned, Jesus is the Light of our lives. As we stay close to Him, walking in His truth, His light will be reflected in all we think, say, and do. When others look at us, they should see Jesus.

Interesting. The idea of 'shining'. It's the 'shining' itself that attracts others to its source. It's unpretentious. It shines brightest when we are focused on God, thankful, and praising Him. For He is most present then. Those in darkness are attracted to it. Isn't that an awesome thing? GOD shining through us!!! That's what others see. It's universal, really, that the worn, the weary, those on their last thread, will embrace His Light in us!! Without words, we can minister to those seeking Him. Kindness and compassion are powerful. It's irresistable. His Light radiates it.

I speak from personal experience. When nothing else reached me, His Light, shining brightly through genuine kindness in someone, spoke to my heart like nothing else could. I put my armor down. It brought me to my knees. Anything else I would'a fought. But God's Light shining brightly through a dear soul disarmed me. It wasn't words, it was God's Light shing through. Such Light cuts through the thickest darkness and disintegrates it. It crumbles walls that are the thickness of many layers.

It reminds me of this song by David Phelps:

Miles and Miles Away

You tired to run so that no one could desert you
Always looking for the perfect place to hide
You build up walls so that no one could ever hurt you
And yet the loneliness made you cry

Bridges all burned
No where to turn
But to Heaven

Miles and Miles away
Love saw you there
Stretched His hand to reach you
Across the lonely ocean of your tears
And He’ll walk upon the waves
If that’s what it takes to save you
Love doesn’t have the heart to stay
Miles and miles away

He has the grace to cover any distance
Always looking for the lost and weary soul
But though he never stops offering forgiveness
And to the one to run, welcome home

Sorrow no more
Jesus is Lord!
Down from heaven

Miles and miles away
Love saw you there
Stretched His hand to reach you
Across the lonely ocean of your tears
And He’ll walk upon the waves
If that’s what it takes to save you
Love doesn’t have the heart to stay
Miles and miles away

Through the day or night
Day or life
Could ever separate us
From the love the stands the ages

Miles and miles away
Love saw you there
Stretched His hand to reach you
Across the lonely ocean of your tears
And He’ll walk upon the waves
If that’s what it takes to save you
Love doesn’t have the heart to stay

Matthew 4:1-11 What was Christ's primary Weapon for withstanding the devil?

Matthew 4
The Temptation of Jesus

1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. 2After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."
4Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'
5Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6"If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written:
" 'He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'
7Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'
8Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9"All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."
10Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.
11Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
