How do you keep yourself from becoming proud? How does this scripture speak to you?

1 Samuel 2
2 "There is no one holy like the LORD ;
there is no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God.

3 "Do not keep talking so proudly

for the LORD is a God who knows,
and by him deeds are weighed.

for the LORD is a God who knows,

God alone is worthy of all glory, honor and praise. He knows our every move, our thoughts, and our motives in all things. When we do things to benefit ourselves and exalt ourselves above others and the Lord, we are setting ourselves up for a fall. What a man reaps, he sows and the consequences of this sin is death ... in one way or another. God will judge us on all things in the end, so it is better to humble ourselves before His holiness and sovereignty.

Genesis 18:27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which [am but] dust and ashes:

This verse reminds me that I am but dust. I am flawed, incapable of any good thing. That alone is reminder enough. Thank God for His grace. He does not leave me in this condition, but will complete His work in me until it is complete.

I sometimes become proud when I get a award or a reward. They call my name to get a medal for winning the race. I think to myself, "I won, I am the best." I stand up with a proud heart and get the reward. This scripture keeps me from becoming proud because it reminds me that I am not Holy. God does not like arrogant people. I should be humble. Instead of walking up to get my medal with a proud or conceited attitude I should be thankful. Even though I did win, I should thank the people who helped me to win. The race in life, is not finished. Those who want to go first will be last in the kingdom.
When we are so wrapped up with our achievements we forgot about the people we leave behind. We brag about the things we have. We think that we are better christians then some people. When we see a homeless person on the street, we look down at them and don't bother to give to the poor. We say, "They can get a job." Yet we are too proud to help them find one. Why is it when someone points out our weakness we reply with anger? Why are we too proud to show others our weakness? We offer to help others but when we are asked if we need help we say we know what we are doing. We stand there, trying to figure it out. We think, should we ask for help? but we are too proud so we struggle on our own. The Lord doesn't like people with proud hearts. We are called to pick up and carry our cross daily, we are not to watch others work and live an easy life. We are not to create our own purpose. All these things are a proud attitude. Scriptures give us examples and tell us not to be proud. I know it is hard not to be when God has given us so much. We have to sometimes lower our pride in order to reach the lost. People may argue or curse at us but we do not reply with pride and anger. We reply with patience. Learning to be Christ-like is a growing and lifetime process.

How has everyone's day been so far? I just came home from school an hour ago. I am stressed out because the semester is almost over and I have a lot of work to do. I have to do a book report that is due Dec 3, An essay due this wed, A chapter of exercises on Fact or Opinion, and I have to read a chapter on Civil rights *which is interesting but too much reading* So far my day has been good but I have soo much to do still.

I try to remember who has helped me along the way. I try to remember that I could not have accomplished anything in life if it wasnt for our heavenly fathe. I think when I get proud and start to boast I take myself back and look at things from a different perspective, I think that I am nothing without the Lord in my life he is the one that makes it all happen. If it wasnt for the Lord on my side I would not be here. I try to humble myslef and help others so that they too can get to where they need to be. I am rich in the Lord but nothing without him.

My day was great I just got the job that I have been praying about, HALLEJUAH! To God be all the glory forever. He is my strenght and my shield.
Please pray that I will contiue to walk the walk that God is calling me to walk.

I will be praying for you Bible Minnie I pray that the Lord continue to give you wisdom, strength, love, patience, and spiritual gifts. I pray that you keep the faith so the Lord can continue to work great miracles in your life that only he can do Sometimes we ask "Where is God?" but the question should be, "Where am I?" May you continue to trust in him who sets people free from pain, sin, and anger. Continue to teach and grow in his word. Walk with him and never take your eyes off of his unconditional love. My day hasn't been too bad actually. I dragged myself to work aching from this flu that seems to not want to let up on me, but I make it through. Yahh! Mind you, tomorrow will be a different story. I think I'll just lay down and play dead. Prayerfully, healing will come.

I will be praying for you Life is a test, a trust, and a temporary assignment. You are in the Lord's hands and he is the problem solver. Have faith and keep your eyes on what is not seen. What is seen is temporary and what is unseen is eternal. I will be praying for your current situation May the Lord guide you and may good come out of what you are going through. Almighty God, I lift up Karen before you and ask you to draw her nearer to your throne of grace. Even now, dear Lord, I pray that you will wrap your loving arms around her that she may know your presense, your touch. Father whatever is keeping her from you, hindering her walk with you, and creating confusion in her life, I come against these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Father, it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. I pray that you will help Karen to turn to you, commit herself to you, and stand firm, not allowing herself to be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. I trust Almighty that you will continue your work in her to completion. In Christ's name I pray. Amen.

I soooo need prayer right about now. My finances and my bank account are messed up from someone fraudulently using my bank card.. The bank has not gotten it resolved yet. I'm probably gonna lose my ability to come online soon, and I've not been able to stay a Site Supporter.

Please pray that God resolves it soon. It's like a domino effect. There will be inevitable fees from the bank because of insufficient funds, etc.

There is one more thing...my family is a mess..well so am I..we need God's grace in our hearts soooo badly. There's a mess of stubbornness, resentment, anger, that's just bunched together. Please pray for God to intervene, starting with my own heart.

I am praying for you! Someone is using your bank card?!?! Did the bank stop your account yet or tracked down where the money is being taken out or spent? That is a very serious issue. How come you can't stay a site supporter? That is not good at all. I pray that whoever is doing this be caught and have to be fined for their wrong doing. I also pray that the Lord help you with your finances during this hard time that you are facing.

I do not think you should have to pay for the insufficient funds. It is not your fault that someone is using your card
