The Word of God says not to partake in ANY kind of witch craft. SO if you are practicing one of thier methods...it is AGAINST Scripture.

Heres an interesting scripture as well

1Sam 15:23 For rebellion ~IS AS~ the sin of witchcraft, and stubborness ~IS AS~ iniquity and idolotry.

Peace

well ive decided to change my meditation process to laying in the dark and listening to my metal and reading the bible.

i still however think the whole third eye thing has the wrong cred.
i havent used it as of my first post about it.
but its just odd to me, like if the third eye is occult what does that make your imagination? (im not defending it the third eye thing im just extremely curious about it)

I'm going to repeat what I said earlier: if you want to meditate, find a Christian teacher to guide you. I'm not at all convinced that listening to metal is a better meditation strategy than trying to open your third eye, but that might have more to do with my personal taste (I listen to ambient house when I need background music, which isn't that often).

I think you just have to be careful. "The Third eye" is a lable linked to a few practices including clairvoyance, precognition, and out-of-body experiences.

Just make sure you stay on the right side of the tracks and dont do any research into practices with the "third eye" technique that might tempt you away.

Maybe not calling it "Third eye" might reduce some peoples judgement on you.

I think meditation and focusing your mind on God is a good thing indeed.

Yah, am a metal-head, too. Nothing wrong with it. But, perhaps it's not the best music to have on when you're spending time with God. Unless you can focus on other stuff when it's on

Imagination is a gift from God! Who doesn't enjoy going on beautiful flights of fancy? But meditating on something so non-scriptural is the problem - the two things are entirely separate. As to deciding not to pursue it anymore... Yay!

If you can find a reference to the third eye in the bible then you are right but if not then you are wrong it is that simple, there are many powers in this world beware of which ones you tap into....... It is that cut and dry..... So if you really want to do what is best start studying and look for a third eye account in the word.

There is a verse that says that the light of the eye is the life of the body, but believe me that is not what you are doing, it is a orientalism, the light of the eye in the east in the biblical times and perhaps now meant, your spiritual understanding, if your spiritual understanding is right and basedon God's word then it is life to your body but if your spiritual understanding is wrong then just the opposite..

Many things in life can produce temporary happiness and calm you and make you seem more at peace, marijuana makes people SEEM more relaxed bu th long term effect are drastic, MEDITATION is a form of spiritualism that those who get involved with it heavily tend to be very depressed and suicidel after a period of time. You are to meditate on God's word and His word alone, in other words think it over and stay your mind on it and consider what it has to say, this is called the stayed mind biblically and is also a part of the renewed mind process needed to change your own thinking patterns.

I would say that the third eye from my study is not Godly or biblical and that there is no such thing in Christianity or use for it.

But like I said look it up yourself... it is your life and you have to make your own decisions, but the best spiritual decisions are always backed up biblically.. God is spirit and He knows what is best for us....

Imagination. You say it's not a bad thing. I can think of a few things you can do that are not exactly a pure use of the imagination.

Our hands are just hands, we could use them to do evil or to do good. The evil or the good (intention) resides in our hearts. God knows all our intents, thoughts and all our imaginations.

Zach 7:10... let none of you imagine evil ~against~ his brother in your heart

Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

1Ch 28:9 ... The Lord searcheth ~all hearts~, and understandeth all ~the imaginations~ of ~the thoughts~: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

2Cr 10:5 Casting down ~imaginations~ and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

1Sam 2:3 Talk no more so exeeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for The LORD IS a God of knowledge, and by HIM actions are weighed.

Yes so using your imagination like a third eye is wrong. To say somthing like that is harmless because it is imagination is ignorance. That can be placed up their with the witches and worlocks, it's real but people don't think it is.

Seriously, "third eye"? Its a "word" that gets a rise out of others. Neither is the word explainable by others that choose to use it. They use it to add a "touch of mystery" to themselves.

He "could" call the "third eye" a TRI-EYE -ITY (as ridiculous as that might sound) The dictionary "reaches for" a accurate descripton. Its not much unlike what I have seen others do that believe otherwise in their "terms" or "words".

How can one USE their imagination LIKE a third eye ? How does a "third eye" use its imagination?

Theres like no place to even put ones foot down in describing it (defining it) or rooting the thing (to me) its all imaginary and in ones head.

I'll let others argue demons, mazes and the so called third eyes. The conversation will naturally gravitate to a fruitless place. (To me) its full of "superstitiousness".

Peace

well I hate be the one to break it to you, just because someone makes it up doesn't mean it's any less real. Let me explain before you jump down my throat.

The person is lying to themselves mostly, however when they believe it, it becomes as real as the floor they stand on. Phsycotic maybe, but that's life.
