• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

not a mod here... I think perhaps it's okay as long as we're only answering your question... you are asking what we all use... your not asking us to tell u or prescribe you what to use so i think it's okay...
i know some of my friends use lithium...

it's best that you ask your doctor what you should use :)

There are many medications on the market today to help you with your manic side.
I'm on an anti-psychotic (Abilify) and a mood stablizer (Sodium Valproate). If you are on the manic side than I would imaginion that an anti-psychotic as well as a mood stabilizer is needed.

Yes side effects - or more correctly other effects. All anti-psychotics have other effects as do mood stabilizers. Often nasty ones at that. The lot of mentally ill people isn't always an easy one that much we all know for certain, I think.
God bless.

Before I was tested for bipolar I was taking paxil for depression and risperdal to prevent bipolar. I was tested and I am not bipolar. My ex boyfriend is and my present boyfriend is, and my dad is.
My ex takes Celexa, Zyprexa and Clonazepam.
My dad takes Risperdal, Clonazepam.
My boyfriend takes Celexa.

Are you ADHD?
Asking because I know sometimes 'bipolar' and ADHD can be 'mixed' up.
