Hello marshlewis,

From the perspective of one living outside of the USA let me say, ALL your mainstream media is slanted to the right. ALL of it.
Whenever I read Americans argue about a Libral media bias its both very funny and really frightning at the same time.

Your point of view is unconvincing since you don't even attempt to document any of your statements. Do you even know the definition of the terms in question? What does it mean to be "slanted to the right" as you suggest the media is and how is that manifesting itself in the mainstream media's coverage of news?

The owners of the major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, FOX) are corporations known for giving huge contributions to Republicans, particularly conservative Republicans.

Clear Channel Communications (again, a huge contributor to Republicans) owns most of the radio stations in the country.

Most of our newspapers are owned by conglomerates which are (guess what?) major contributors to the Republicans.

The only thing which is missing is an official United States Department of Propaganda.

I get my news from independent magazines, Air America Radio, or overseas sources. I figure anything I hear from a large American source is going to be full of official Administrative spin (but very little in the way of content).

...and thus, people in other countries might be much more aware of just how corrupt this Administration really is?

I don't think people in other countries hate the American people. I think a lot of people in other countries may hate our current Administration -- and quite honestly, I don't blame them.

I am so sick and tired of hearing these liberal, godless, Hollywood medias. The only news source that isn't drastically biased is Fox News...

I, too, am so sick and tired of hearing Administration spin on every single news story which comes out in this country.

By the way: anybody notice that we have not had any "heightened security alerts" (level orange) since the Presidential election?

Thank God for Air America!

Yes, this "war on terror" thing certainly seems to be working...

Dan Rather, unwitting tool of the Right.
You heard it here first, folks.

I lived overseas for 3 years. The news I got about the state of affairs in the US had me trying to convince the wife to re-patriate to either Australia or New Zealand.
We ended up back home, and after 11 years here, I have concluded the news I received while overseas was pure BUNK!

My sister in law(defacto) told me a story about her psycology lecturer. The llecturer who was french was talking about how people pick up the cultral traits of the culture they are imersed in. The lecturer said that she herself had picked up the 'French are rude' meme from living in New Zealand for to long.

And yet... (besides FOX), they employ an amazing (lopsided) number of liberal reporters... who are the ones putting together and relaying the stories.

Not really true.

The top 5 companies don't even own 20% of the national radio stations. Clear Channel is #1... but is far from being a monopoly.

Combined, the top 20 companies own more than 20 percent of all domestic radio stations. The top-five companies own more than 14 percent of the total number of stations. Clear Channel has stations in 191 of the 289 Arbitron-rated markets. The second-largest organization, Cumulus, only operates in 55.

You follow all your previous accusations by stating you get your news from Air America!?! Too funny!

Let's see corrupt administration (not to mention illegal war in Cambodia, or lying about said war) or lying about a ******* (after Republicans were doing everything they could to pin something on this guy).

Uhh huh......

Glad to see everyone's priorities are straight....

More like perjury, obstruction of Justice, and witness tampering ( felonies, last time I checked,...) about a b***** vs. doing about the same thing concerning a fourth-rate burglary Nixon wasn't even involved in.
If you must compare Nixon and Clinton, be sure to get the facts straight first.

The most infamouse western terrorist alive today (Luis Posada Carriles) was to appear before an imigration hearing today, he is currenty seeking political asylum in the United States. The whole situation puts the Bush administration between a rock and a hard place. They want to support Cuban expatriots and they also want to be harsh on terrorism... I heard not a peep about this on MSN, CNN, FOX, ect...

Thre is no way a balanced news media could let such a story just slip by, much less one that leaned to the left.
