There is a new book that argues for the epitemological Meaninglessness of science mathematics religion philosophy and all views. EVEN NIHILISM -this book is not nihilism as it says even nihilism entials meaninglessness. All products of human thinking entail meaninglessness nihlism scepticism all isms all ologies EVERYYYYYYYYYYYY VIEW COMING FROM THE HUMAN MIND

Colin leslie dean gives axample from mathematics and science showing that at the very foundations of their systems are paradoxes that collapes them into meaninglessness

Please dont respond with out looking at the book

And dont just say oh but maths and science work and are usefull. Because dean accepts this but says because they work but are logically meaninglesness-ie ential selfcontradiction and paradox there is a mystey tio be solved.

did you read the book -obviously not
it says perhaps -not can
if god is beyound humans understanding ie transcendent - in an apophatic sence
there could be an intelliegence runing the whole show leading humans along by the nose if reality is meaningles because god has made the human mind produce self-contradictions thus forever blocked from logically becoming god like and understanding gods mind -then the only way for maths and science to work is by god making them work -they work because god makes them work but at the same time he blovcks humand from having a god like consciousness -thus he leads us along a path for which only he /it knows

Please us capitals, punctuation and heck, even a spell checker (if you don't know how to spell a word, ask someone). It makes your arguments look like they make more sense and they make you look more educated. Just a tip.

The nature of apophatic theology means 'god' is assumed, then an attempt is made to confirm 'god' through negation.

The whole thing is simply nonsense.

The best you could extract from this is 'god might do this[/i] or 'god perhaps acts like that', equally (and with equal validity) I can say 'Perhaps water is the brain of the universe and communicates with the crystal hand at the centre of time using energy rainbows (but these inerrant facts are outside on the scope of the human mind)'

And equally this would be nonsense.

If each of our concepts is a "meaningless" and absurd attempt to approach the unintelliglible (as is the - btw. of course "meaningless" and absurd - idea of this book), there can be no explanation (which is not "meaningless" itself, that is).
In which "god" is and has always been poorest attempt: It doesn´t explain anything, it merely is the prime example of substituting "I don´t know" by an unexplained term.
"This mystery at the heart of science" could be explained by trascohulinx perhaps as much as it could be explained by god perhaps.

On as side-note, I never seem to get what people mean when saying "meaningless" in this context.

you dont have to go anywhere
but with acceptance of the meaninglessness of everything -that means what comes out of your mouth is meaningless-so why should we pay attention
and tell us why u pay atention to others points of view when what they say is meaningless as well science maths relgion politics education -do u just follow along because u r just a good social sheep doing what it is told

I don´t think you should pay attention. In my experience people do pay attention towards that which others say because the meaning they expect or hope it to have is not the sort of meaning as defined by the article.
