Meaning of an Impression

[Caramel]

While praying an image came to mind. Strangely, it was a piece of white cloth with a purple stain on it and the stain appeared to spreading, like ink.

What do you think it could mean?

Well purple is royal... Maybe that has something to do with it.

The colors may represent purity & kingship. The material may represent worship. I have to agree with the others now...it maybe sin spreading somewhere.

Since the purple stain is on a white cloth and is spreading, I assume the purple is in contrast to the white. So, the purple would thus symbolize the corruption of riches and kings and rulers that has infiltrated the church, I believe.

Stain: blemish; tarnish; soil; discolor; mark; dirty; blot.

Some people say that lighter purple -- lavender -- represents the Holy Spirit. I'm not sure where this comes from, but it might be the twisted threads in the temple and robes -- OT versions name the colors different but it's crimson, blue, and purple, which some people consider the Trinity.

While my logic says that stain = bad, I also get a glimpse of the stain of Jesus' blood soaking into the perfectionism of the church -- that what is meant to cleanse does not follow our standards of clean.

And that is what happens when the Holy Spirit starts soaking into a church. A person might suddenly cry in their seat, feeling years of abuse lifted; a businessman might get an insight for solving problems during a song (inconvenient and improper); the pastor might sense God asking him to kneel in front of the congregation, breaking all decorum. The cleansing, healing and the nourishing gets messy -- the blood gives life to the perfect cloth.

But then again, I agree with the others, that stain = bad. Lol. ;-)

Thanks for all your insight. I still feel confused. Just to clarify on the stain, it looked like a blob of ink in a deep shade of purple.

I think that you should ask God to reveal the dream to you. Ask yourself why could such a dream be standing out to you, and what have you been involving yourself in lately.Also analyze the emotions you've been having; but above all ask God for help.

I think it could mean that somoene who is pure and unblemished is being overtaken by royalty and riches. Like they're becomming rich and maybe it's destroying who they are. Sense you said that you saw this while you were praying then it seems that you are being called to pray for them.
I agree that you do need to ask God why you're seeing this and what it means. Also, I'd say examine your own life because it could be that you're seeing this as a warning to yourself. But, just ask God to show you what it means.

I agree too. God does not promise to give us less than we need. He says that if we need wisdom, we should ask for it and He will give it. I think it's the same with dreams. If the message was incomplete, there's a reason, but it's not likely that it's to withhold information from you. It might be timing of information not ready to be revealed yet, or pieces of a puzzle to put together, or people you need to talk with to find out more.

Keep asking, keep seeking.

There have been times information has been revealed to me that made no sense at all. But 5-10 years later, an incident occurs that makes no sense, and the imagery comes back to mind. Some messages help prepare us for something we will have to go through, that will not make sense with logic alone.

Have you written anything anywhere that could spread -like a rumour -or something that could hurt an innocent person?

Have you been aware of a person who is being slandered? Have you been told something about somebody and you're not sure what to believe? Is there a pure thing around you that is in danger of being spoiled by other people's writing?

Pray and seek God for the answers thru his word, God is the only one who can reveal the answer of what you invisioned.
Praying you have clearity on your vision. Sometimes it takes a while for the answer remember God reveals things in his time not ours.
