• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello, I have an unusual question so please be patient with me. Back in March of this year my family and I fell on some hard times. My wife lost her job, daughter had a car accident but thankfully is fine, another daughter has had some issues and my employer notified me they will be relocating in four years. We were always at Church every Sunday and I thanked God on a regular basis for all of our blessings. To no ones fault but my own, I became distant from God after seeing others getting blessed who never even thought of attending Church and I decided to quit praying, quit going to Church, etc. In September I tore my MCL and required surgery for the first time in my life. I am 50 years old. I am off from work for 6 weeks of recovery and with the time home alone it makes you start to think clearly. I am curious do you think God had this occur so I would become close to him again? I am so curious about this question. I would appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you very much!
