  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Maybe you all can help...

What I need help with is how to tell this girl I like her.

I've like her for close to 7 years. And when we hang out together it just seems right, other's have confirmed this. But neither of us have the time for a relationship (I say this cause I'm terrified of asking her out). I came close to asking her out while we were in high school, but then she graduated. I thought that I would never see her again. But when I get to college I get this call from her, turns out she's at the same college as I'm at. Well... we still rarely hang out, but we do try to do nice things for each other. Like she made some sticky buns for me about 5 days ago, it's my turn to make something for her.

Now on the occasions we do hang out... apparently we both act different around each other. Like only talk to each other and so on... Only problem is, I don't notice this stuff until later... like now.

AHHH! This is driving me crazy... someone give me some advice.

RELAX!!! The situation is only as difficult as you make it. Let things happen naturally. There's no reason to be scared of asking her out; if she says yes, then you're in business. If she says no, it's not the end of the world, and at least you won't beat yourself up for not asking her (that's not fun at all, take my word for it). Be yourself and take your time, and things will sort themselves out. Good luck!

:) have faith that what is meant to happen, will. myself, i hate living with regrets.. it still haunts me sometimes that i never asked a certain girl out in highschool; not so much because i thought they were the one, more because i think i missed some really good opportunities to hang out and really get to know a great girl. if you like her, get up the nerve and ask her out... it doesnt have to be anything fancy, just see if she wants to spend more time together.

if you two get close and then drift apart again, or it just doesnt work out, remember this: someday someone is gonna come along and make you realize why it didnt work with anyone else before that. i can't remember where i read that, but it's made a huge difference for me.

just have fun :) you can't go wrong having fun with a pretty girl, even if she doesnt turn out not to be the one.

Ok, now the ball is in your court. She made you some sticky buns. Why don't you try something along these lines:

"Hey (insert her name), those sticky buns you made me were great! That was so nice of you. Let me return the favor by taking you out for coffee (or ice cream or whatever is close by)."

That way you can kinda test the waters. You are thanking her for your kindness to you and seeing if she is interested in a potential outing. This is a safe date for her. Going out for coffee with a friend. If you two do this, maybe you can judge her reaction to you and decide if you want to go out again. Go with the flow. See what happens.
