Well, you wouldn't know if he was lying, so you can't really say "nothing so far indicates that He is".
Are you sure about this? Let's take one claim: the universe had a beginning. Supposedly God inspired that claim in the various authors of scripture. We do have support for that claim. Scientific support, in fact.

It's also said "God answers prayers" Again, there is considerable support that intercessory prayer has a positive effect on health in a number of medical situations.

Eventually, in dealing with anything historical, it eventually comes down to trust that the people witnessing the event are giving an accurate account.

All we have to substantiate that Hannibal brought elephants over the Alps is what is written by 2 Roman historians. Do you believe them? Why or why not?

Several survivors of the destroyer Barton saw the numbers "451" on the bow of a destroyer as it overran them while they were in the water following the torpedoing of their ship on Nov 13, 1942 during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. Are they accurate? If they are, then fellow destroyer O'Bannon ran over them. Do you believe them? Why or why not?

Thousands of British soldiers reported seeing an angelic figure in the sky at the Battle of Mons in 1914. Were they mistaken? Were they accurate? Do you believe them?

We do our best to check claims by reason and independent evidence. But in history a lot of the time it comes down to whether or not you believe the person telling the story or writing it down is accurate.

I'm just gonna have to start with this, and ignore the prior 27 paragraphs.

Please, show me this scientific evidence that purports God was the thing that began the universe.

It's also said "God answers prayers" Again, there is considerable support that intercessory prayer has a positive effect on health in a number of medical situations.

Several studies of prayer effectiveness have yielded null results. A 2001 double-blind study of the Mayo Clinic found no significant difference in the recovery rates between people who were (unbeknownst to them) assigned to a group that prayed for them and those who were not.

Similarly, the MANTRA study conducted by Duke University found no differences in outcome of cardiac procedures as a result of prayer.

In another similar study published in the American Heart Journal in 2006, Christian intercessory prayer when reading a scripted prayer was found to have no effect on the recovery of heart surgery patients; however, the study found patients who had knowledge of receiving prayer had slightly higher instances of complications (psychological benefits?) than those who did not know if they were being prayed for or those who did not receive prayer.

Another 2006 study suggested that prayer actually had a significant negative effect on the recovery of cardiac bypass patients, resulting in more frequent deaths and slower recovery time for those patient who received prayers.

Eventually, in dealing with anything historical, it eventually comes down to trust that the people witnessing the event are giving an accurate account.

You could.

Those seem like rather mundane claims, in regards to how much one should care to believe or not...

Now, while I might interpret that "useful advice", I have changed it and apologize it if was.

You don't see your latest tagline as a violation of the flaming rule, or a slam insulting anyone of any religion anywhere?

Apology accepted.

So, I can't severely disagree with religion?

^_^ Oh you can. Do you think your current sig could be seen as belittling or mocking those of Faith? If so then it's flaming, and against CF rules. (This is a 2 way street, with the idea to uphold human dignity regardless of creed or any other thing people might discriminate over)

I wasn't aware of any CF rules about not being in favor of religion, as a whole.

Past tense - you weren't. Now you are. Just click on the upper right corner, where it says "rules." Look under blasphemy. It's no secret.

If you want to say, "Ha! You made a mistake!", then I suppose that is your right.

However, I did apologize and removed it immediately.

No, I'm talking about your latest, now current tagline. (You will note the mercy involved)

Can you paste this tagline that bashes and reams Christianity, for me?

From CF's rules on blasphemy: "You will not insult or mock Christianity"

If you can't see how your current tagline does that, I will conclude there is no point in me trying to point it out to you.

That's why I asked for the specific line that was insulting or mocking Christianity.
