Anyone play this? I just beat it. A bit rough around the edges with some crass language, but what a story! I was blown away by the script and voice acting.

Ah. Jack Lupino in the RagnaRock Club. His "Satanism" was more the result of the club's "end of the world theme" (Actually, everything in MP1 was steeped heavily in Norse mythology -- nice touch) and his being wacked out on drugs. While the imagery was there, it was more for shock value, and not as an endorsement of anything Satanic. You'll remember that there wasn't anything really demonic; it was all fake.

I like MP, quality game, the first one had more destructable environments. Did you use the cheats at all?

Nah didn't bother with the cheats yet. Currently working on Dead on Arrival mode to get the alternate ending.

The first Max Payne was a very good game IMO. The second was much, much too short. Gameplay and graphics were good, just too darn short.

It ripped off every hardboiled detective drama cliche... particularly from Dirty Harry and Mike Hammer. Then again I think that's exactly what they were trying to do.

Hmm, did the violence seem over glorificative to anyone besides me? If it wern't for that I would play it...

The violence was stylized. Glorified? Maybe....It also showed that the search for revenge just leads to more tragedy tho.

In saying over glorified I mean that it's overly much not to mention very bloody... I'm mean the whole premice of the game is to kill people, that is what you do the entire way through, right? Of course I've only played the demo's of both... I love the way they are done, it's just the violence that hold me back.
