CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Divorced. I met my not-Christian (but believed in God,lol) ex at age 19. Started dating for fun after he lied about his age, having been divorced (twice), having kids, etc, and started falling after the first date. Could've been the wine coolers.

I'm divorced too and not at all my choice. After 20 years of marriage my 'christian' husband left unexpectedly and is living with a young girl from the office. That was 2 years ago. I have three beautiful daughters.

Good on you for having the strength and courage to leave a violent man. It can be such a difficult trap for many women to get out of.

I lived with a guy for 6 years- and to this day I thank God that I never signed a marriage certificate / license. Even though the jerk tried to pressure me to.

I can beat you all. I have been divorced three times (yes I know). But from my second marriage I have two wonderful children that I have always had full custody of, they are a blessing from God. I don't date anymore, I focus on my church responsibilities and my parenting. Perhaps someday God will bring the right woman into my life, but until then I will stay the course.

Ok, you do beat me by far, been divorced only once, and once is enough. God bless you for raising your kids on your own. I'm a single parent too. They are blessing from the Lord

Trying to do the right thing.
Divorced the man who fathered all three of my children. I never remarried, but I don't want to grow old alone. He has remarried four times, and now his health is failing and he's only 56. Sometimes, when I get angry at being alone, I thank God I'm not still with someone who would get married five times, and I know that doesn't really make sense, but it does to me.
Yes, I'm divorced but when people ask face to face, I usually say I'm single because I am.
Do you all think that's wrong to say that?

I don't think there is anything wrong with saying you are single...because you are! In your case, both apply to you so you could say divorced or single. It would be different if you were saying single and never married...
Are you currently dating someone or getting out there and meeting possibilities???
