  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

that was actually the first one I made...I wanted something to represent all the aspects of magic...the elements etc...

the second I made after reading a few articles on "Cover Mistakes" that said the more simple the cover art the more "marketable" it was...
but I too really like the symbolism in the first one :)

I think it's just "pretty" LOL

You should always go with your first choice. Don't over think it. It's not too busy IDK. The second one is too plain IMO plus I am not a big fan of those symbols

The pentacle is the mainstay symbol of my faith, like the cross and crucifix is for most christians.

each point represents an element.
When the point is up it's called a pentacle depicting spirit over nature (flesh)
When the point is down it's called a pentagram and predictably nature (flesh) over spirit.

Thus the two main differences in the pagan paths.

But yes...I agree...I like the first one better :)

I know there are differences and thanks for explaining them. Sometimes we just can't help our influences from our lives whether good or bad.
I also just think the first design is more inviting. I think more people might pick it up just to see what it's about because of the cover. Again, JMO.

no worries michelle

I agree...the first one is prettier...I think I'll use that one...'cause I really do like the symbolism in the first cover as well...and it is "friendlier".

Okay...so I heard back from one of the many publishers...a bit of positive feedback, but I apparently need to add more content, so I'm back to re-editing, adding more information, and chapters...
So here we go again as it takes shape and progresses I'll keep ya informed...

On another note, I started working out at a gym back in December....lemme just say that cycling, step, and body pump are good workouts...but I did my first Zumba class this morning...
it was *AWESOME*!!!!
SO much fun!!!

Yeah it has :(

This morning I was off to the gym, cycling class...I think the instructor was trying to kill us LOL...it was a good workout though.

Spent the afternoon working on my book trying to make the additions and edits the publishers wants to see....at least I hope I'm on the right track.

Not much else going on here today.

Tonight my social group is meeting...I have to admit it's kinda poignant since I know the group is dissolving with my move in June...

I've made lots of good friends through this group and will miss them greatly when I move.

I'm gearing up and setting up a string of garage sales to get rid of stuff since he's taking most of his furniture...and it's admittedly nicer than mine LOL

Also clearing off bookshelves of books I've gathered over hte years and don't plan on reading again...

and the usual smattering of knick knacks and brick a brack that accumulates...

Getting rid of lots LMAO

Kinda neat...new place and new start...

It always helps when you enjoy the work you're doing.

I'm enjoying the writing though some of the challenges are getting what I want to say out clearly. I've had a couple of days of the words flowing like peanut butter....

I'm hoping my "muse" returns soon...

In other news I'm slowly but surely finding peoples who want my stuffs LOL! So I've got furniture and other things leaving to their new homes

I'm hoping to be able to rent a smaller than 20' truck for the move...it'd be nice to be able to rent the 10' truck instead...not to mention cheaper LOL

flowers? my french is rusty LOL

Yeah...I'm moving to Reno :) Gotta go where the money is :) And well...new start, new area, new energy, good opportunity.

Though to be silly and quote an old movie:
Nun 1: "Oh I love Reno!"
Nun 2: "...and Gomorrah!"

hehehe

My quote was "Where have all the flowers gone?" Remember that song?

IDK why but it popped in my head yesterday and then I came upon the french version of it and listened to it being sang in french. Like I said IDK WHY this happened. It was never a favorite song or even a song in my selection. It was written when I was 2 for cryin out loud.

"Where Have All the Flowers Gone?" (1961) is a folk song. The first three verses were written by Pete Seeger in 1955, and published in Sing Out! magazine.[1] Additional verses were added by Joe Hickerson in May 1960, who turned it into a circular song.

I don't even know these artists! But anyway, that's where that came from LOL Have you ever had random thoughts like this? LOL Happens to me all the time. I'm weird, I know that already LOL.

Thanks for clearing up the move for me Gwenyfur. Wow Reno huh? And are you moving there by yourself or with someone? What about your daughter and granddaughter? Do you already have a job lined up there?
Sorry for all the questions. You don't have to answer if you don't want to. ;)
