In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. The abomination of desolation (man’s handwriting of ordinances) stands…that is, is established…in the holy place where it should not be found.

Man’s handwriting of church ordinances (statements of faith, church constitutions, church by-laws, etc) can be found in every “church” gathering.

Rather than following God’s commandments and statutes and judgments, many follow the handwritings (their commandments and statutes and judgments) of men.

The major hint to the understanding of what is the abomination of desolation comes in the following statement: “whoso readeth, let him understand”.

Matthew 24:15-16 KJV
(15) When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)
(16) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

It was Daniel who could read and understand the handwriting found on the wall of king Belshazzar’s palace. He could read and understand the handwriting upon the wall while the king’s wise men could not.

Daniel 5:8 KJV
(8) Then came in all the king's wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof.

Daniel 5:14-17 KJV
(14) I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.
(15) And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing:
(16) And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.
(17) Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.

The writing was done in the fashion of an appearing of a man’s hand and was written within the king’s palace (or temple) in a decree-like writing.

Man’s handwriting of ordinances was being parodied by God written decrees and it was found in the king’s palace …and today it is found in the King’s holy place and is against the “candlestick” or Light (knowledge) of God.

Daniel 5:5 KJV
(5) In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.

The handwriting was “against the candlestick”….that is, it is against the knowledge of God.

Man’s church handwritings of church ordinances are found in the holy place (we are the temple of the King) and is highly exalted among men as it exalts itself against the knowledge of God (the Light or candlestick).

2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV
(5) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

The church handwriting of ordinances are patterned after the documents of the world…..the nations’ “constitutions” and statutes and by-laws which they use to self-govern and judge themselves with instead of God.

The church scribe written documents are “images”…graven images…of what they see in the outside world and so they go after the nations in these things. They are “idols” found within the church. We are polluted with the nation's idols when we copy their "handwritings"...their constitutions, by-laws, statutes, etc...and make them our own as the world does.

Ezekiel 23:30 KJV
(30) I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols.

Beware of any man who will lead you astray with his church handwriting which is patterned after the “rudiments” (the fundamental principles) of the world and not after Christ.

Colossians 2:8-10 KJV
(8) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
(9) For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
(10) And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

These handwritings of ordinances (dogmas = what one thinks is right) are against us.

Colossians 2: KJV
(14) Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Fleshly-minded men rule their churches by their handwritings….the “principalities and powers”.

(15) And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

They have intruded into the Scriptures and have taken some of the external commandments of God and have incorporated them into their handwritings and use them to judge themselves and others with.

(16) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
(17) Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

(18) Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

They have brought the “vessels” of His house before them. They have taken the commandments of God out of the Scriptures to include them in their handwritings so that they may get gain from them. They praise their handwritings….their “gods”…their elohim or JUDGES. Their handwritings are lifeless. They cannot see nor hear nor know anything like our Living Judge.

Daniel 5:23 KJV
(23) But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

Instead of making the Living One their Judge (the LORD our God/Elohim/Judge ), they make a handwriting of a man’s hand judge of themselves (and others). Don’t let a fleshly-minded man judge you with his handwriting of church ordinances that contain external commandments (the shadow of things to come) that were taken out of His “House”….the Scriptures of God.

Colossians 2:16-23 KJV
(16) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
(17) Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

The fleshly-minded man intrudes into the Scriptures of God and vainly thinks that he has “seen something” and then incorporated them into his church handwritings...the messengers...the "angels".

(18) Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

He does not have the mind of Christ as he seeks to rule over you with his handwriting of ordinances that do not feed anyone who is involved with them.

(19) And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
(20) Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
(21) (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
(22) Which all are to perish with the using) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
(23) Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

Cursed be the man that makes any graven or molten image (the rigid handwriting of man’s church ordinances that are patterned after the documents of the nations of the outside world). They are the work of the hands of the craftsman and not from God.

Deuteronomy 27:14-15 KJV
(14) And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,
(15) Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

The false prophets who think they had seen something in the Scriptures and make a handwriting of ordinances have seen nothing.

Ezekiel 13:1-3 KJV
(1) And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
(2) Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
(3) Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

And yet they proclaim that the LORD said it (their handwriting of ordinances) when He did not speak it to them.

Ezekiel 13:7-8 KJV
(7) Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?
(8) Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.

The handwriting of church ordinances is a “baal”…meaning, lord…among those who prostrate themselves to the work of their own hands instead of serving the LORD.

We must take the “accursed thing”…the thing devoted to destruction…away from among us.

Joshua 7:11-13 KJV
(11) Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.
(12) Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.
(13) Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.

The denominations …no matter how many “restorations” there have been….always end up with a man’s document/documents at the center of their reorganizations and so become just another denomination centered around the abomination of desolation: the handwriting of ordinances of man's hand.

Psalms 127:1 KJV
(1) A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

The handiwork of the church scribes ….their handwritings….divide us into “denominations”. In fact, “Pharisee” means literally to “separate” or a “separatist”.

We can then interchange scribes and Pharisees with church scribes and church denominations into all of the “woes” .

Matthew 23:15 KJV
(15) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Matthew 23:27-28 KJV
(27) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
(28) Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

They …fleshly-minded men….separate themselves because they do not have the Spirit and they lead many into going to their “churches” where many are perishing (being full of dead men’s bones).

Jude 1:17-19 KJV
(17) But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
(18) How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
(19) These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

We are to CONTINUALLY keep the “daily sacrifice” ….always keeping the dying of our Lord Jesus in our mortal bodies….so that His eternal life may be made manifest in our outer mortal flesh.

2 Corinthians 4:10-11 KJV
(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
(11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

But the fleshly-minded men who want to divide us into their denominations come to take the keeping of the “daily sacrifice” of our Lord Jesus out of our lives and place the “abomination”…their handwritings of church ordinances…which brings desolation.

They “take away”….that is, TURN OFF…the continual keeping of the daily sacrifice in our lives and so that the eternal life of Jesus is never made manifest in this earth in their congregations so that we may keep their handwritings instead as we use them to judge others with. .

His eternal life is being cut off from ever appearing in this earth as they bring us into the bondage of the keeping of their church handwritings (the principalities and powers).

Daniel 11:31-32 KJV
(31) And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
(32) And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

They pollute the sanctuary of strength. They do not have reverence for His sanctuary as they make “graven images” (their handwritings of church ordinances which are patterned after the outside world’s documents) for themselves to serve and worship inside their gatherings.

These handwritings become fixed inside them. They do not move out of their churches. They are a “standing image” where it should not be found….inside the gatherings of our churches.

Leviticus 26:1-3 KJV
(1) Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
(2) Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.

We are to walk in HIS statutes and keep HIS commandments and do them….and not the statutes and commandments of the handwriting of church ordinances which is the “graven image”...the standing/established image found in churches.

(3) If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

The “customs”…that is, the ORDINANCES…of the people are empty (vain).

Learn not the way of the nations who revere their highly exalted documents: their constitutions, their statutes, their laws, etc. They are highly exalted among men…exalted to “heaven” so to speak. They are “dismayed” ….that is, they PROSTRATE themselves…to their highly exalted documents which are not from God. They are lifeless handwritings .

Jeremiah 10:1-4 KJV
(1) Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
(2) Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
(3) For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
(4) They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

We are not to “corrupt” ourselves with making a “graven image”….a church handwriting of church ordinances that is patterned according to the outside world's documents who seeks to govern themselves and judge themselves with their own writings. God has divided among the nations of this world as He lets them serve their documents (for now) instead of His commandments, statutes and judgments.

Deuteronomy 4:15-20 KJV
(15) Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
(16) Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
(17) The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,
(18) The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:

The handwritings of the world are highly exalted in the minds of the outside nations. They are in “heaven” (shâmayim = to be lofty) as they are thought of highly….being served and worshipped as they prostrate themselves to their highly regarded documents that they govern themselves with.

The “sun and moon and stars” ( that are all high up in the sky where everyone can see them) all speak of their governments as the sun and moon and stars “rule” the day and the night. They are the “host” or the armies of heaven.

We are not to lift up our eyes unto “heaven” so-to-speak and see those things that are highly exalted in the outside world (their handwritings of ordinances) and should be driven to worship and serve them (by incorporating like-sounding documents into our churches).

The LORD our God (our Living Judge) has divided these things unto all nations under the whole heaven.

(19) And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

But the LORD has taken us and has brought us out of “Egypt”….the world’s bondage of documents that have no power over us…so that we serve Him now in His kingdom/reign.

(20) But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

He takes us through the Sea of Reeds….the sea of reed pens of man’s many handwritings.

Matthew 24:15 parallels Luke 21:20.
The abomination that causes desolation (Matthew 24:15) is the Roman armies surrounding God's city of Jerusalem (Luke 21:20) in 70 A.D. when they destroyed Jerusalem.

Regarding the armies surrounding Jerusalem:

Think of Jesus as the "glory of the LORD" in Ezekiel 10 and 11 that departs from the temple and eventually from Jerusalem altogether. The glory of the LORD In Ezekiel departs in different stages of departure.

Jesus (the "glory of the LORD") said the things we find in Luke 21 while He was INSIDE the physical temple (as He was observing the rich men casting their gifts unto the temple treasury) when He was asked when these things should be. He had not left the temple nor Jerusalem. The glory of the LORD had not departed yet.

Luk 21:1-7 KJV
(1) And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
(2) And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
(3) And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
(4) For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
(5) And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,
(6) As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
(7) And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

Now in Matthew 24, He said the things to His disciples OUTSIDE the physical temple and outside Jerusalem upon the mountain....after the "glory of the LORD" had left the temple and Jerusalem so to speak.

In Matthew 24, Jesus WENT OUT and departed from the temple and Jerusalem before He taught His disciples about the things to expect at the end of the age.

These are not insignificant details to gloss over.

In Luke 21, Jesus was teaching inside the temple about the event that signifies WHEN the desolation of Jerusalem is near...the departing of the glory of the LORD would leave its place in the temple and city...the desolation of it.

Their house would be left "desolate" after the glory of the LORD departs from it. This has already happened.

Luke 13:34-35 KJV
(34) O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
(35) Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Daniel is not mentioned in the Luke 21 account as it is not about what the "abomination of desolation" is but about WHEN the "desolation" comes.... when the "glory of the LORD" departs from Jerusalem. His departing from earthly Jerusalem is the "desolation". The house is left desolate.

The compassed armies would be the sign of the imminent departing of the glory of the LORD (the house is left "desolate") from Jerusalem and its destruction that comes as a result from His leaving. Again, this has already happened. Luke 21:20 was for the immediate future and was for the immediate audience.

Luke 21: KJV
(20)And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
(21) Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
(22) For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Again, in Matthew 24 Jesus had already DEPARTED the temple and Jerusalem and was upon the mount of Olives.

Mat 24:1-2 KJV
(1) And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
(2) And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
(3) And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

We see in Ezekiel 11 that the "glory of the LORD" had left Jerusalem and was standing still upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city...the same Mount of Olives that parallels Jesus sitting on in Matthew 24.

Eze 11:23-25 KJV
(23) And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

Jesus is speaking in Matthew 24 to those who are in the spiritual captivity of spiritual Babylon today and not about the literal temple and literal Jerusalem as Luke 21 which was already accomplished.

The vision that Ezekiel had saw ended....the glory of the LORD had departed from Jerusalem and so that part of it no longer applies to Matthew 24. Luke 21 was about the departing of His glory from the literal temple and Jerusalem.

Luke 21 was literal while Matthew 24 is to be spiritualized in the Spirit of God and relayed to those who are in the current "captivity" of false prophets.

(24) Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
(25) Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shewed me.

Matthew 24 speaks of the temple of His body...His church...while Luke 21 speaks of the physical temple and Jerusalem that the glory of the LORD would be leaving (the "desolation" of the house). Two different audiences.

But BEFORE all these things that pertain to the end of this age, Jesus told His disciples in Luke 21 what would happen immediately to them and about the glory of the Lord departing from the physical temple and Jerusalem...the "desolation" of it as the glory departs.

Luk 21:12 KJV
(12) But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

I say that when they murdered (Acts 7:52) the Lord of glory; i.e., the one and only Son of God, the glory of the LORD did not remain in the temple for another 35 years until the Romans destroyed it!

And you overlook the rest of what Jesus said in Matthew 24:15-23.

The glory of the Lord departed in stages ....and not immediately. Even after the Lord had died and was resurrected there was still hope for Jerusalem to repent and be converted. The door had not shut completely.

Act 3:12-17 KJV
(12) And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
(13) The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
(14) But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
(15) And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesse
s.
(16) And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
(17) And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.

The glory of the Lord had not fully removed (the "desolation" of Jerusalem) until they had seen the armies surrounding Jerusalem then they will know that the "desolation" was near. The "desolation" is the complete leaving of the glory of the LORD from Jerusalem.

The Lord still sent His messengers to speak to His people after His resurrection....but they still had a full measure to fill before the house was left completely desolate....the glory of the LORD completely leaving.

Mat 23:34-39 KJV
(34) Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
(35) That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
(36) Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
(37) O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
(38) Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

(39) For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Luke 21 is about the event telling His disciples WHEN the glory of the Lord will completely leave the physical temple and earthly Jerusalem....the house being left "desolate" as He departed. Jesus spoke these things in Luke 21 BEFORE He left the temple as He was still in it.

Matthew 24 was spoken AFTER Jesus symbolically left the temple and Jerusalem is about the church...the temple of His body.... and is spiritually understood.

Paul wrote the book of Romans over 10 years before the destruction of Jerusalem, and he does not present any "hope" for Jerusalem to repent and be converted.
He presents Israel as cut off from the one olive tree of God's people, the believing Gentiles grafted in (Romans 11:17) and their only hope being if they do not persist in unbelief (Romans 11:23), which they have for 2,000 years and counting, not being the people of God now for more time than they were the people of God in the past.

Paul did hold out hope for the his own flesh to save some of them.

Rom 11:13-14 KJV
(13) For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
(14) If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

The complete removal of the glory of the LORD was not yet as they had a "measure" to fill up culminating in the destruction of Jerusalem when the Lord's glory had completely withdrawn. Their house was left desolate. His glory departed gradually from Jerusalem as shown in Ezekiel.

Mat 23:32-39 KJV
(32) Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
(33) Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
(34) Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
(35) That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

Paul did hold out hope for the his own flesh to save some of them.
Not until he no longer hardens their hearts.

But yes, God has been saving a remnant for 2,000 years now (Romans 11:1-5), just as he has been saving a remnant of the Gentiles during that same time.
Only a remnant of all mankind, Gentile and Jew alike, will be saved.
Rom 11:13-14 KJV
