Need Help with Linear systems word problems/equations!

Here they are:

Tickets for a movie cost $13 for adults and $8 for children. A total of 400 tickets were sold and total sales were $4650. How many of each type of ticket were sold?

and:

The difference between two numbers is eight. Five times the smaller numbers is eleven less than four times the larger number. Find the numbers.

Have a brilliant 18 year old daughter, a wiz at math..... here you go:

a=adults $13
b=children $8

13a+8b=4650
a+b=400
a=400-b
13(400-b)+8b=4650
5200-13b+8b=4650
-5b=-550

b=110
a=400-110 =290

5b=4a-11

a=8+b
5b=4(8+b)-11
5b=32+4b-11
5b=21+4b
b=21

a-21=8
a=29
