James, I ask that ..."the glorious Father may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints and His incomparably great power for us who believe."
Eph 1:17-19.

Do you have any Christian friends who can support you while you make this decision?

Thank you, I am amazed at the responces here in this christian forums, everyone is so supportive and uplifting.

I am preparing studies ready to present to the elders with a resignation letter. This preparation needs to be precise so that I am ready to combat the abilities of elders to 'dance through Scripture' and me have no responces or have those mental blanks about where Scripture is to support my decisions.

I know no one outside of my own Jehovah's Witness friends or family yet except a few funny little nicks here :)

The help and guidance I am receiving here is helping, so that all this will slot into place when the timing is right.

Thankyou for your prayers all, thank you for those that just encourage me with my focus. I cant express what this means.

James

:prayer: I pray that you will find friends and support.

I'm sure that we (at CF) will help as much as we can. But I also pray that you will find a local Church that is right for you so you can get help in person.

Have you though about changing your faith icon? Or getting the Admin to change you name? Then you won't have to lose the RP and blessings you have built up.

God Bless. M.

Thankyou, I did find that I was faced with being relegated to outreach and a non christian area when I was new. This upset me really and I thought about reading the creed and seeing if I could just agree to it in order that I could post elsewhere or even respond to others, but found I would be saying a lie, I am confused and I don't know what I am yet so will leave what I have grown up with for now.

I am finding this is helpful anyway, so I should get off my 'high horse', not be tempted to lie and accept being labelled and just accept the positive help I am getting.

Many thanks

James

James, Can we help you with the letter? I have a friend at church who was a JW and she turned her life over to Jesus just over a year ago. She struggled with guilt and shame for a long time. Would it help to have her share with you? I don't know if she has a computer but I think she can get online from the church.

Please let me know if this will help.

Thankyou, the letter is the least of the concern really, I am focussing on the interview and presentation, and of course my family uppermost. Thankyou anyway.

James....

You don't have to present your "study" to the elders... they will have an rebuttal from the "pat answer index" that Watchtower gives them..... They've heard it all before.....

Let me throw something back at you...

when JW's go out... do they go alone?

Of course not, they go in pairs... and the Bible says for disciples to go in pairs... If you intend to "battle" instead of just "believe" and "leave"... then you need to have someone with you also...

And I recommend that you call a good- ole' baptist preacher to go with you...

But my better recommendation is not to "battle" at all... but just believe.

yes, we pair up when we witness, I can just tuck my tail between my legs and leave by posting a resignation letter however I feel it is my right to voice why I feel 'DUPED' and 'MISLEAD' and why.

The people I speak with need to also know where 'truth' lies and what The Bible is saying and the many Scriputral reasons why.

I have a study on trinity I can't come a conclusion on, which is why I am using this forum, But there are other studies that I have a firm conclusion on Scripturally.

Being Christian IS A BATTLE, and The Bible shows us it is by saying that we should put on the full armour of GOD.

Look at each of the disciples and see how they went to the people and suffered much in doing so. I am ready (in part) for the 'pat answers' and ability to 'dance' through Scriptures, but hope that I might at least get them thinking and searching their Bibles in the privacy of their own homes and have Jehovah's Spirit guide them also.

I am concerned about a previos post you wrote ..

(quote)

When you place your faith in Jesus Christ, and "that" Jesus Christ doesn't have all the attributes of God, then you have misplaced your faith and put your faith in a misleading doctrine. Only God can forgive your sins.

It was the incarnate "God" who died on the cross, and it was the incarnate God that arose on the third day.... and it was a physical, bodily resurrection, not just a spiritual resurrection. The blood of Jesus's physical body was sacrificed.

You may know this because when Jesus first spoke to Mary, He told her not to touch his body because he had not yet ascended to the Father... but later in the same day... Jesus walked into a closed room in a glorified body of flesh and bones... no blood in that body because the blood had been sacrificed on the mercy seat in heaven... the ultimate sacrifice. The stone to the tomb was rolled away so a physical body could come out of the grave. If it were a spiritual body, there would have been no need for the stone to be moved, Christ could have just walked through the stone.

So... is your faith in a Christ who arose in a physical body or in a spiritual body? Is your faith in a Christ who was deity from before time began, was deity while on the earth incarnate, and who will be deity forever???

(unquote)

I just have to think on this, and am disturbed by it. Upset even. Please pray for me in this area.

You had some good and well meaning answers James.Of course we will pray for you,but you will have to do your bit too.Perhaps if you told your Elder that you would like to follow Christ as well as love Jehovah and tell the Lord Jesus how you need His help to become His follower,I am sure you will see your decision to leave J.W.become reality.Shame the devil James and tell the truth of how you really feel. And keep asking and you will be answered. That is the Lord`s promise to us.Your sister in Christ Emmy.

I will tell the truth when I am ready to prove it from the only TRUE authority, The Word of God....

for now Jehovah God knows me and my intent and heart.

Hi James! Oops, I didn't see your post! I just PMed you. Write me back however you want. I went through the same thing. I can't say that I completely believe what the majority of Christians believe, but most will agree a Christian is a disciple of Jesus, and that is the basis.. not being divided by things that man can't prove one way or the other, or may have conjured up ages ago. As long as you believe that Christ is your saviour, then don't stress over the little details. God will give you the answer you're looking for if you pray for it... always in His time, not yours. I'll be praying for you. :)

James- a post to say I admire your bravery. And I have prayed for you again.

I wonder if this story may be of any significance to you?
Jesus Heals a Paralytic
5:18-26 pp—;Mt 9:2-8; Mk 2:3-12
Lk 5:17 One day as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law, who had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem, were sitting there. And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick. Lk 5:18 Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. Lk 5:19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
Lk 5:20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven." Lk 5:21 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, "Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
Lk 5:22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, "Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? Lk 5:23 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? Lk 5:24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. . . ." He said to the paralyzed man, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."
Lk 5:25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Lk 5:26 Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, "We have seen remarkable things today."
NIV. Emphasis added. I'll just let you think about it.
