Is it a sin to touch while looking at pictures of women in bikinis? I don't fantasize or anything like that I just look at them while I touch. Thank you for your time and answer.
In this case, yes. YOu are lusting after women, fornicating with them in your mind, thus what sin you commit in the heart is equal to committing it in real life.

If you do it, why ask? I was young once, and I know the difficulties you are likely having. And so does Jesus. If you sin, accept it as it is and repent. So if you touch, repent and ask for forgiveness. And after a while it will get to the point that you won't "want it" any longer.

Lust is a sin. Touching yourself isn't.
So the answer to the question is yes, masturbation 'outside of marriage' is a sin because it requires some form of lust to get you to reach climax. Contrary to popular belief, masturbation is not required to obtain or maintain mental or physical health. In other words, you can live without it.

If you're a Christian, your love for God should be greater than your love for self and lust for others. It would do you good to study scripture.

If you're not a Christian, then ignore this post.

I cant even think of one person on earth that never touched him/herself. Is living without sinning even remotely possible?

No, it is impossible for every single human on this earth right now, and all humans that have lived. Living a life without sin is 100% impossible. Pretty grim.

However, there is one Human that defeated the spiritual virus of sin, and was able to perfectly live a life free of sin. For this, Christians worship this Human as our King, because His life, death, and resurrection vindicated the human race in the eyes of God. His name is Yahoshuah (Jesus, Immanuel, Christ, Messiah, etc.) So, we have victory through Christ's sacrifice for us - blamelessly dying for our evil and debauchery to ransom our souls from hell (lifelessness, death, corruption, etc.)

To answer the question for the post, masturbation and [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] without the consent of God (i.e. outside of love making with a committed partner) is forbidden. As images of God our seed is a reflection of holy progeny. So, to waste it is ludicrous to God: our seed is meant to produce children. A tree doesn't drop acorns with no hopes of [some of] them growing into trees, and dandilions do not release spores with no hopes of future generations. We, as humans, should not "drop our acorns" for no reason either.

If you are looking at/lusting after someone in order to be aroused to touch, even if it s in your mind, you are committing adultery. Christ said "whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matt 5:28.) So, masturbation is a sin on multiple levels.

Besides all of this, you lose so many nutrients by [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] if you are not having intercourse. Men lose 1/3 of their daily value of zinc per [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]. Zinc is important in immunity. Proteins, sugars and other nutrients and minerals are surged into feeding the sperm so that when it is time to [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] the sperm will be healthy - but you lose this if you spill/waste your seed.

If you have intercourse with a female, the way God designed it (without a condom), the female vaginal fluids replenish most all of the nutrients lost in [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]. So, intercourse for procreation with your mate is both divinely correct, and medically ideal.

Thank you for answer, you made it pretty clear.

However, isnt it a bit disheartening to live a christian life? If I understand correctly you acknowledge the existence of a lawgiver that gave rules to humans that not a SINGLE person (apart from Jesus, but he was God so it doenst really count) can follow.

Hi,

Good questions.

It is disheartening to live as a Christian sometimes, because it is easy to realize how guilty you are for what you have done (and possibly will do.) But, this is why we (Christians) utilize Christ's strength, and power to overcome those feelings. Christ said "come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matt 11:28,) because He understands our struggles (having been human,) and He is therefore meek toward our problems. Moreover, because there is actually one human that defeated the spiritual virus of sin, God (the Father) gives us grace that allows us to be forgiven for our sins (because of Christ's sacrifice) so that we can have a Father-son/daughter relationship with Him.

Remember also that Christ was born of a daughter of man, which means that He was born of a human with a spiritual virus of sin. His mother Mary, though she was a virgin when she conceived of Christ, was not a perfectly sinless woman. Therefore, in many ways, Christ had a worse handicap that Adam/Eve (who was formed by God from His breath of life, and the terra.) Still, He overcame sin and death, which is why His sacrifice was not superfluous even though He was God in the flesh.

It is not that God is a lawgiver that gave unattainable laws to imperfect creatures. We were created with the full law on our hearts, but our great parents Adam and Eve chose to abdicate their titles as son/daughter of God by sinning - a choice. This is why He sent a redeemer to vindicate us - the wisdom of God in human form. God literally humiliated Himself into a human, innocently died for our faults, and He had to watch His own creation scourge and ridicule Him. But, He thought it was 100% worth it so that His children - humans - can be saved and enjoy Him as a Father, and not as a judge.

It may be hard to see Christ and God as separate and the same. Moreover, it is a paradox. However, Christ is God as a consequence. It is like saying "my son is me, because he came from my loins." But in this case, Christ is represented as the Son (offspring/branch/vine) of God in spirit (as well as flesh.) And, it is important to recognize Christ as the son because God the Father is the creator of all things spiritual, physical and in between. This is why Christ prayed to God, because He was acknowledging that God was the Father with the authority due to a father. Moreover, once we become perfected, Christ gives us the unfathomable permission to call Him our [Elder] Brother! So, the whole plan is to illustrate that we are all family under the one God, the Father. That is really the whole point of this fleeting human existence: to recognize that we are children of God, brothers and sisters, and therefore love for our Father and each other is the #1 priority.

I know that was long winded, but I hope it shed some insight on your question.

Cheers.

This is of course not a point of view i share, but it was well explained from your part. Thank you.

I have another question, do you think it is possible to both be christian and humanist? I mean, is it possible to both believe in your christian version of God while being proud of being human?

This is one thing that tends to make me a bit uneasy when i read christians, as I have the feeling that they imply that the human race is worthless. Or at least, not worth much.

(I now realise that this has nothing to do with masturbation being a sin or not, if OP wishes so I can open another thread for this discussion)

Well, if the human race is worthless I don't know why any god would humiliate himself from Diety to humanity in order to save us, and give us a second chance at life, let alone The One True God of gods. We are loved, favored and blessed as humans. It can sometimes be unfathomable to understand how an infinitely powerful and majestic "something" can love us lowly balls of protein, water, bone and fat. But, God does love us more than we know. We have a common ethereal/spiritual enemy that works on "higher planes," (Eph. 6:12) telling us lies like "humans are worthless." This enemy's purpose is to pollute God's family (us.) The enemy cannot attack God head on (obviously,) so in an attempt to hurt God this enemy is attacking His children (like most all cliche cowardly criminals do.) Inducing Adam/Eve to fall was the beginning of the enemy's attack.

The reality is that one can, and should be proud to be human. But, even more importantly is that humans are a combination of flesh and spirit, and the spirit is before the flesh. A Christian should never be ashamed of being human, because at the end of the day being a Terran in the image of God is a human. The difference is the spiritual make-up of Christ and the other humans. You, me, and those of us that arent perfect are simply sons/daughters of men since our Great mother and father abdicated the title of Son/Daughter of God. Our spiritual identity has been defaced by sin so much so that our physical titles take over our identity. However, just because we have different titles doesn't mean we (Christians) denounce our physical part. Christ gave the commandment to us to love one another as we love ourselves - He said this was the second greatest commandment next to loving God with all of our hearts (Matt 22:36-40.) We cannot love our neighbors if we don't love ourselves, and we can't love ourselves if we aren't at peace, happy and [healthily] proud of ourselves. We believe true peace comes from hearing the Word of God, faith in Christ, and patience and obedience toward God. It is the same as an adult having peace because s/he listens to his/her parent(s), believes them, and is obedient to them and patient his/her parent's will. A disobedient, hot-tempered and naive child reflects the behavior of "the spiritual enemy."

Thanks again.

I could continue the debate about why God, in that scenario, would allow evil to continue existing, if God is the creator of all evil, why he created humans as he knew in advance that they would sin etc. but this has been discussed many times before and would not help the original purpose of the thread.

Even though this sounds like a science fiction scenario to me, I think its positive if used as a way of being "pro human" and morally correct.

You are asking the same questions most Christians, or theist in general, ask. Meditate, pray if you want to, but continue to search for the Truth. Keep in the back of your mind that God loves you, and He will call you if/when He wants you. You are loved, and God is happy with you, especially for even asking the questions you have asked, and entertaining my responses without gross criticism or ill-will.

I guess these are the normal questions that one has to raise when one imagines the scenario of christianity.

As for seeking the truth, I continue to search for it, and so should you (this means, questionning your faith at all times, not necessarily dismissing it). I found a couple of possible scenarios that made sense, but thats not including any of the three big monotheisms around. Im really agnostic and I think Ill remain agnostic until I die. If the christian God becomes obvious after my death, then Ill simply become a christian.

In the worst case scenario, wish me luck in hell ;D
