  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, so we all have debates on how male masturbation is or is not a sin.
(will voice my opinion on it if asked)

But i have on question for all of you who are against masturbation: What about Female masturbation?

(Talking about male masturbation) Many say that it creates lust, therefore concluding that it is a sin, because it's like haveing sex with the woman he is fantasizing about.

So what about a woman? I had just gone through many masturbation forums that debate whether it is a sin, and not one states anything about female masturbation. Do the same rules apply?

Techniquelly speaking I really dont think that the statement "spilling your seed" applies to women (not that it was translated right anyway)

So disscuss: Does female masturbation go by the same guide lines as male masurbation?

The question is non-trivial. What if you don't fantasize? What if the person you fantasize about is your spouse, who is currently a thousand miles away and won't be back for three weeks?

The canonical citation is to Onan, but Onan's sin was refusal to consummate a Levirate marriage, and more generally, disobediance to direct personal orders from God. Ironically, most people would consider the Levirate marriage practice gravely sinful today!

I think this is one of those things where there's too many variables to give a general answer without exceptions.
