Masturbation... is it wrong?

Why has no one told me why? I will tell you all if you tell me.... better yet I will start.

From a Christian perspective I would have to say that it is a sin of Lust. It is not provoked by anything but thoughts of the flesh. You don't go masturbating for no reason, or when you don't feel Pardon my Language *Horny* you do it when you're horny. When you want some. How many Christians have been thinking about God and than gone, well I think I'll go touch now.

From a Non-Christian perspective... I would have to say, hey, the only thing it can do is possibly prevent Prostrate Cancer, and clog your shower drain. But I assume this is going to get much non-Christian attention so... have fun.

If yes... Why is it wrong?

If no... Why is it not wrong?

Why would it be more sinful to enjoy the pleasure of masturbation than say, a massage? Either one is a pleasure of the flesh. Both have benefits. Yet one is more sinful than the other? I don't get it. If God created us to feel pleasure, then it would seem to me that it is a sin to not experience that which God has created.

Yet one is more sinful than the other?

One involves the minds eye. The other does not.

One involves lustful thinking the other does not. One involves a mechanism by which we carry out our fantasies, the other does not.

So yes, a massage and masturbation are both "pleasurable experiences." I wouldn't know because I don't do it. I swear. And most people don't think about the other repercussions of this decision. It can disrupt your ability to get aroused. Extensive masturbation limits your ability to be aroused in the same way holding your bladder does.

I'm saying masturbation and sex are healthy in stop things like prostate cancer, I'm not saying the reason why people do or don't do it.

On a few check-ups I went to they're like...

"Here's a cup..."

And I was like... "Should I pee in it?" And they were like.

"No... we want you to [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] into it."

But I did, and than I handed him the cup, and than I walked out of the office, and have yet to do it since. That was a couple of months ago.

They both involve the minds eye. Both are intimate touching (only one is "alone time").

One involves lustful thinking the other does not. One involves a mechanism by which we carry out our fantasies, the other does not.
How do you know what goes on the mind of every person that gets a massage? It is very reasonable to think that a person may get "lustful fantasies" fulfilled by receiving a massage.

So yes, a massage and masturbation are both "pleasurable experiences." I wouldn't know because I don't do it. I swear.

Well, arousal is lustful, so this could be a good thing. I know that arousal is useful for sex with your partner, so this could hinder the process. Why is masturbation worse than having sex with a wife/husband for the the pleasure of it?

Masturbation is a natural and healthy way to explore one's own body and experience pleasure. It is not a sin.

It doesn't neccesarily have anything to do with lust.

Children discover masturbation far earlier than they discover sex. They touch themselves because it is pleasurable and they can't even concieve of any sort of "dirty thoughts".

People don't just touch when they are horny. If you do - that would simply be your experience. Masturbation is a stress or tension reliever that I can enjoy (probably enjoy better) without any thoughts at all in my head (fantasies can distract from the actual physical pleasure). It is important for both men and women to be comfortable in their own skin and I know few who are truly comfortable if they feel bad about touching themselves too long in certain places.

Masturbation is healthy and gratifying. I do it…uh…often…to prevent the cancer…yes…that's it… I am helping to prevent prostate cancer, and enjoying myself. Now what's the harm in that? Oh well, I guess an evil atheist like myself is living in sin already, might as well bury myself under some more sin :)
