  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Nihilist said:
Don't you see? That's exactly what would appeal to someone who hated aristocrats and was abused by them. Nietzsche takes yours as a religion founded on resentment.

And one could easily turn the phrase by saying that religious people take Nietzsche as founded on projected ressentiment, and in many cases they'd be right. There are resentful Christians and there are courageous Christians; for every John MacArthur there is a Dietrich Bonhoeffer. There is nothing inherent to probably any of the teachings Christianity is founded on that lines up with Nietzsche's statements, but there is a world of applicability for Nietzsche's distaste given the false attempts at living like Christ.

If that's true then show me in the New Testament, or in any ECF, where any type of social revolution was expressed. What you'll find is actually the opposite: "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's" and "respect those in power over you, because God has ordained them" and "pray for those in authority". If I were looking for a belief system to take on the ruling class, I certainly wouldn't look to Christianity.
Exactly my point. Good Christians make good slaves. Accept injustice cheerfully. You'll have pie in the sky by and by when you die.
