there is no condemnation on anyone posting in this thread, or reading it. We, fallen creatures that we are, become ensnared in soooooo many stumbling ways. That is why we are admonished to encourage and pray for one another, for we know full well our OWN weaknesses. Praise God for His grace. We are to stand-in for our brothers and sisters and lift one another up to our Abba. His grace is plenteous and flows freely.

Have nothing to do with such people.........................lovers of themselves, and without self control, I know what it was like not to have self control over your sex drive, Its a whole different world looking back and seeing how bound I was in this sin, and that every Christian should know there is a way to get free, but the first step is to believe the bible and not people who want you to feel ok about this sin, because they were unsuccessful to get free themselves, because they do not believe the truth. and the truth is not in them

Wait, how's that even possible? Can you touch without a lustful thought in your head? Unless we're using two different definitions for "lust" I don't see how masturbation prevents lust. To me, lust comes before masturbation. Masturbation is just gratifying the lustful desires that are taking over.

But not all sexual thoughts are lustful in a biblical sense. Are you aware of that?

No, but that's because you and I are using different definitions for "lust". I bet your definition of lust only includes actively seeking out something. Mine, however, includes sexual fantasy and finding certain things attractive. I think that my definition is what's typical of most Christians.

I would take what appears to be your definition, but my feeling is that this isn't what God wants. Although, it makes things easier, I did learn that these fantasies are indicative of something else.

I used to look at porn and masturbated and thought that this was better than having sex. But, truth was that I wasn't all that social and the only reason why I wasn't having sex was NOT by choice.

When the opportunity did finally present itself, I wasn't able to resist the temptation and I gave in. I found that I really couldn't control myself and I would've been better off learning to try to overcome the urge to engage in what I call "lustful" activities so that when I would have the chance to have sex, that I could then overcome it.

That verse in Matthew's gospel states, (in the Greek) ... a man .. looking with intent i.e. there is a commitment to contemplate doing something wrong morally given the opportunity. That's the biblical standard from what I understand for judging any matter a sin.

Fantasy is wrong when it has an element of wrongful intent. I can have a fantasy about driving a powerful sports car - pure imagination. But imagining how I could steal one is something else.

Associating sexual images such as porn and masturbation is clearly wrong because porn is wrong. Period. But that does not necessarily mean a person who masturbates will become a porn addict. Masturbation has several implications, not all of which are healthy. But that does not imply it is always wrong. Some Christians touch without porn, are very careful about what mental images they engage in, and don't let it become a compulsive habit. A blanket condemnation does not take into account such people.

yeah and harmful illegal drugs aren't mentioned either does that mean they are ok? Just because something isn't mentioned in the bible does not mean it is automatically ok. There are many principles in the NT which guide us in what is right and wrong as opposed to the OT where it generally mentioned the specific right and wrong. Of course I don't believe the bible comments on masturbation one way or the other.

I'm not sure why people don't see a lack of self control, if a person has to sexually touch themselves to [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], since they are unable to control their sex drive, and it is just as addicting as any street drug that holds people in bondage. Yes the bible doesn't mention people having sex with kids either but we know its wrong, nobody even has to tell you, you don't need to read about it in any old testiment law. Its just common sense, the more desensitized the population becomes, the less likely even this sort of thing will be looked down upon, mark my words in another 50 years, pedophilia will be as common as homsexuality, and pedophiles will be fighting for their rights to seduce children. Having sex with yourself fits the verse "Lovers of themselves" even the greek word for lover is the one used in describing sexual acts. showing also lovers of money as to discern there is a difference from the two references, one is a selfish love and the other is loving everything of value, things and property
