  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So are parishes permitted to have high mass?

I know of an Anglo-Catholic parish that has high mass, so I was just wondering if Catholics have that as well.

I've been to a Low Trenetine Mass, but never a High one. They're extrememly rare now, since you have to have minor orders who know the tunes, and you have to have a priest who knows the tunes. Since the minor orders were abolished for the new Mass, you can only have a Trinetine High Mass if it's at a Church that specifically uses that Mass, and so has minor orders, it's not something that can just be done ocassionally.

You must be thinking of a Solemn High Mass, which is celebrated by a priest, deacon and subdeacon. You can also have three priests celebrate a Solemn High Mass with one acting as deacon and the other as subdeacon. There is no concelebration in the Traditional Mass with the exception of the ordination Mass.

In a regular High Mass all that is necessary is one priest a small army of altar servers, and a choir. You do not need anyone in the minor orders.

We'll be having a High Mass tomorrow at my church. I will most likely be thurifer.
