Sorry if I'm late replying to this. Just saw your thread, and decided to join the site. I have been studying for about 6 years, admittedly I haven't actually attended class at the dojo for several of those past 6 years. Primarily due to a combination of temporarily moving away, low income, attempting to balance out my time with Church/School/finding work. So, now, Praise God, I'm in technical school preparing for college, and am employed, so I plan on starting back at the dojo within a matter of a month or so.
Anyways, the dojo I count myself a student of offers at least a foundation in several styles. Though the most advanced training, and primary styles of the dojo are Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, Kung Fu San Soo, and Nihon Ryu Jiu Jitsu. Though, while students are trained in all of these throughout their time at the dojo, actual certification isn't offered for San Soo, or Nihon Ryu until around Black Belt level of Shaolin. I am currently a Blue Belt in Shaolin.
Considering that the college I plan to get my BA in is around 2 hours away from my current area (the dojo's current area) I will probably begin studying at a Tae Kwon Do dojo that is near that college, I have heard about. Unfortunately I've been told that a great deal of their teaching is poor quality in regards to self-defense (I study martial arts for self-improvement, and self-defense.) though the exercising and work on kicks is still highly praised, therefore I figure it will still offer me some nice skills to augment what I already know.
Someday I would love to study Tai Chi.
Also, I have recently heard of an Ishin Ryu teacher in my area that sounds very promising, I plan on asking his former student more about where to find him, etc. I may very well train under him at some point in the future.
