  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I like hearing about strong marriages & people who are working hard at making them work. It shows they think it's all worth it, & that's great to me. As a single woman, it gives me hope to read people's thoughts on strong marriages & how committed they are to them. It also reminds me that some people are willing to go out of their way to make their other relationsips work as well.

I'm part of this section - thirties - & the singles section as well. Been more of a lurker lately than a poster, but I'm still here.

Keep up the good work, relationship people!

I envy those who have been able to be blessed in their only marriage. There are a few of us who have not been so fortunate.

My first marriage ended spectacularly after nine turbulent, painful years. As an unbeliever, yoked to another unbeliever who classified his wife as a "piece of property", it was a relief to finally be able to breathe the air as a free woman. It almost felt strange not to be viewed as someone else's servant/cash cow/waitress/emotional abuse receptacle.

I've been delivered from some trule painful things.

I'm in my second marriage, and celebrated our fouth anniversary in April. It's totally different the second time around...A true testament both to God's forgiving nature, and His always-kept promise to His children! I"m looking forward to many more anniversaries with my spouse

Married 12 years -- going on 13 this year. Because of Christ, our relationship grows deeper every day. We have our differences at times, but we respectfully share our thoughts and forgive each other. Many times our difficult moments have been turned into moments of laughter as a result of a clumsy action and/or words and phrases that come out comically incorrect. For the most part, we enjoy each other's company.
