Oooh, oooh...do I win the "got married the quickest" contest???

Here's the nutshell, lol (most of you have heard it before anyway).

God literally told me this was the man I was going to marry before the boy even asked me out on a date...about an hour after we first met, lol. I thought God had lost his mind because I was in no way interested in or even looking for anything serious. Turns out God was right, though, and we both were head over heels for each other...4 days after we met we both said "I love you" and TOTALLY meant it.

We both talked openly about getting married (lol, I didn't tell him about God speaking to me until AFTER we tied the knot, though, lol). We just both knew beyond doubt that we were meant to be together. We didn't question it at all...and neither did anyone else...it was obvious that we were bonded for life, rings or no rings. But, we never talked about it officially, never talked about dates, never talked about rings...still we both knew it was inevitable.

So about 2 months after we met, he took me to the lake at sunset. We were sitting on the dock, the water and the sky were this amazing fiery blend of red and orange and gold, absolutely breathtaking...and then he asked me. :swoon:

It was perfect. Just the two of us, surrounded by all that color...it was unforgetable and amazingly romantic to me.

He'd asked my mom for permission earlier in the day before he proposed, lol...he told me later.

We got married 2 months after that...lol, a little over 4 months after we met.

And now it's been over 10 years...yay.

LOL, "God had lost his mind" :D   I always love hearing your story! I am sure that God has destined my husband for me, too.
LOL, I always have this picture in my head of God shaking His head and saying "See, Heather...I told ya so...but did you believe Me??? Nooooo..."

Well, it wasn't spectacularly romantic or anything, but it is a sweet, fond memory. We had been together 5 months at that point. We were cuddling, and he looked at me, and then asked me. I was speechless, but I hugged him tightly, and after a little bit I found my voice and said yes.

LOL- later he said that he got nervous when I didn't respond right away, and thought I was going to turn him down... silly man, As If!!! LOL.

The ring came a little later, he picked a beautiful sapphire and had it set for me, because he knew I loved sapphires. It was really sweet.

We kind of had a lot of the romance stripped out of our courtship because of my parents, who first of all thought Digit was or could be an axe murderer, and then when he asked for permission to marry me said "not really", and my mother kicked him out of our house, and then...

Anyway. He never formally proposed, we never had an engagement ring, but I gots my man now and THAT, my friends, is that. :D

That's a great story honey. We should tell that at parties. :p

I think so. Everyone would begin to eye you oddly and sidle away. Imagine, someone called you the "last true romantic" and everyone else thinks you're a psycho. :D

I didn't read your story until this morning, that sounds awesome. If I may ask, how did God convey to you that this was the man you were meant to marry?

Cheers!

... not an axe-murderer... despite what people say. >_>
