Bride of Christ
Mat 22:3 And (the King) sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding (Matt22:2): and they (parallel Rev 3:20) would not come.
Rejectors of the Wedding Invitation (Zep 1:7 1Sam 9:13)
Mat 22:4 Again, he (the King) sent forth other servants, saying, tell them which are bidden, behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
Second Invitation to the Weddings
Mat 22:5 But they (rejectors invited Matt 22:3-4) made light of it (marriage invitation), and went their (Rom 1:21-32 2 Tim 3:1-9) ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
Mocking God (Gal 6:7)
Mat 22:6 And the remnant took his (the King) servants, and entreated (treated) them spitefully, and slew them.
Spiteful Treatment and Murder for Servants of God
Mat 22:1 And Jesus answered and spoke unto them Matt 21:45-46 multitudes) again by parables, and said,
- Luk 8:10 And he said, Unto you (disciples) it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
Bride of Christ
- Mat 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, the kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
- Mustard Seed Parable Mat 13:31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, the kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Mat 13:32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
- 2Co 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 2Co 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
- Matt 13:33 Another parable spoke he unto them; the kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
- Mat 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. Read Matt 25:1-13
- Psa 45:10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear; forget also your own people, and your father's house; Psa 45:11 So shall the king greatly desire your beauty: for he is your Lord; and worship you him. Psa 45:12 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat your favor. Psa 45:13 The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. Psa 45:14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto you. Psa 45:15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace. Psa 45:16 Instead of your fathers shall be your children, whom you may make princes in all the earth.
- Joh 3:29 He that has the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
- Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the (True) church (Acts 20:28 Heb 12:23), and gave himself for it; Eph 5:26 That he (Jesus) might sanctify and cleanse it (True Church) with the washing of water by the word, Eph 5:27 That he (Jesus) might present it (True Church) to himself a glorious (True) church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it (True Church) should be holy and without blemish. Eph 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself. Eph 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it (own flesh), even as the Lord the (True) church: Eph 5:30 For we (Christians) are members of his (Jesus) body, of his flesh, and of his bones. Eph 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I (Paul) speak concerning Christ and the (True) church.
- Rev 19:6 And I (John) heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God (Rev 5:1 Rev 14:14) omnipotent reigns (Rev 4:2-4). Rev 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him (Lord God): for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his (Jesus) wife (John 1:12 Matt 11:11) has made herself ready. Rev 19:8 And to her (bride) was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. Rev 19:9 And he (angel) says unto me (John), write, blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb (Jesus Rev 1:13-17 Rev 5:5). And he says unto me, these are the true sayings of God.
Mat 22:3 And (the King) sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding (Matt22:2): and they (parallel Rev 3:20) would not come.
Rejectors of the Wedding Invitation (Zep 1:7 1Sam 9:13)
- Pro 9:1 Wisdom has built her house, (1) she has hewn out her seven pillars: Pro 9:2 (2) She has killed her beasts; (3) she has mingled her wine; (4) she has also furnished her table. Pro 9:3 (5) She has sent forth her maidens: (6) she cries upon the highest places of the city, Pro 9:4 (7) Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: (8) as for him that wants understanding, she says to him, Pro 9:5 (9) Come, eat of my bread, (10) and drink of the wine which I have mingled. (Prov 9:16-18 guests in hell)
- Isa 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsts, come you to the waters, and he that has no money; come you, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price (Matt 10:8 Rom 10:9-10 Eph 2:8-10). Isa 5:2 Wherefore do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfies not (1Tim 4:1 Matt 15:9)? hearken diligently unto me (God), and eat you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness (Matt 19:21 Eph 5:18).
- Jer 25:4 And the LORD has sent unto you all his servants the prophets (Luke 13:34 Rom 11:3), rising early and sending them; but you have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear (Rev 2:7).
- Jer 7:29 Cut off your hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
- Jer 44:16 As for the word that you have spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto you.
- Psa 81:11-12 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. Psa 81:12 So I gave them up (Rom 1:28 Jer 6:30 Matt 26:15) unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.
- Hos 11:2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
- Rev 2:14 But I (Jesus) have a few things against you, because you have there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling-block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
- 2Co 4:4 In whom the god (Lucifer) of this world has blinded the minds of them (rejectors) which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who (Jesus) is the image of God, should shine unto them.
- Rom 10:21 But to Israel he (God) says, all day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
Mat 22:4 Again, he (the King) sent forth other servants, saying, tell them which are bidden, behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
Second Invitation to the Weddings
- Luk 10:1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Luk 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest. Luk 10:3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Luk 10:4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
- Luk 24:46 And said unto them, thus it is written, and thus it behooves Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: Luk 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
- Act 1:8 But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
- Act 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, it was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing you put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
- Neh 9:17 And refused to obey, neither were mindful of your wonders that you did among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but you are (1) a God ready to pardon, (2) gracious and merciful, (3) slow to anger, (4) and of great kindness, (5) and forsaking them not.
- Mat 22:8 Then says he to his servants, the wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
- Heb 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit. Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. See Heb 5:12-6:1-6 paper
Mat 22:5 But they (rejectors invited Matt 22:3-4) made light of it (marriage invitation), and went their (Rom 1:21-32 2 Tim 3:1-9) ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
Mocking God (Gal 6:7)
- Gen 19:14 And Lot went out, and spoke unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law. Luk 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; Luk 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
- Gen 25:32 And Esau said, behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? Gen 25:33 And Jacob said, swear to me this day; and he swore unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. Gen 25:34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
- Psa 106:24 Yes, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word: Psa 106:25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.
- Act 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
- Luk 14:18-20 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray you have me excused. Luk 14:19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray you have me excused. Luk 14:20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
- Rom 8:5 For they (rejectors) that are after the flesh (sin nature) do mind the things of the flesh; but they (saved John 3:3-8 1Pet 1:23) that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
- 1Ti 6:9-10 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted (Hab 2:9 Acts 20:33 Josh 7:21) after, they have erred (Rom 1:25 2Tim 2:18 Jude 1:11) from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
- 2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
- 1Jn 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1Jn 2:16 For all that is in the world, (1) the lust of the flesh, (2) and the lust of the eyes, (3) and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world (John 8:44 2Cor 11:13-15). 1Jn 2:17 And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides forever.
Mat 22:6 And the remnant took his (the King) servants, and entreated (treated) them spitefully, and slew them.
Spiteful Treatment and Murder for Servants of God
- Joh 15:19 If you were of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I (Jesus) have chosen you (Saints) out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Joh 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, the servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me (Jesus), they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
- Mat 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be you therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Mat 10:17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; Mat 10:18 And you shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
- Act 4:1 And as they spoke unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, Act 4:2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. Act 4:3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
- Act 5:40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. Act 5:41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
- Act 7:52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which showed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom you have been now the betrayers and murderers: Act 7:53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it. Act 7:54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him (Stephen) with their teeth. Act 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
- Act 8:1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the (True) church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
