Name: Marl Skarn
Age: 29 (or thereabouts for his species- don't know the correlation in human years)
Gender: Male
Appearance: 5'8", stocky but not fat, powerful arms and legs. Marl has rough gray skin like granite and speckled white-gray-brown hair that looks a bit like a hip, old-fashioned mullet. His eyes are the color of blueschist (check Google images) and usually quite serious. While most of his face is stream-lined, his nose is not so attractive, a squat hunk of rock. He wears a rough outfit of unknown fiber, lumpy and coarse and brown, with rock and ice jewelry-- one dangling sapphire earring, for example, is a favorite of his-- with a simple tool belt equipped with chisel, a flask of water and a small pick. No shoes required.
Personality: Gruff and crusty with a tender center. Marl is a very hardy person, able to brave many hardships and weather-conditions without audible suffering. He's generally close-mouthed about his own difficulties, complaining only about little things everyone know he's not serious about, and heat, which he is very serious about. He loves the feeling of sculpting ice and rocks and has a deep pride about his work. Marl is quite willing to spend years on one piece to make it absolutely perfect. He is meticulous and detail-oriented. His least favorite things are heat of any sort, rain and sand.
History: Marl was born to an older couple from a family not known for having more than one child. They carried on that tradition with Marl as their one and only offspring. More will be available when the author knows more about this species!
