By refering to them as the tools of Satan, it's probably more of an exageration. It can open up temptation and cause some one to inadvertantly become greedy. Plus the credit card companies can practically rip you off with all sorts of fees. They're easier to steal (especially if you're in the business that frequently take CC numbers) and fraudulently use.
While most of us certainly do not plan on having our CC info stolen when taking family to dinner at the Olive Garden or buying that perfect gift, Satan could tempt who ever is taking the information, into recording your information for later use. I have even heard of individuals exploiting the "new technology" and stealing CC information while parked out front of places like Best Buy. Stores like that use wireless technology for all their transactions within the store.

Y2k could almost be the "Cuban Missile Crissis" of the Gen-X era. Though I think that held more concern than the Y2k fiasco.
