I don't know about mining asteroids or spacecraft and such. But I know that a police officer asking someone to identify him or herself is not the beginning of the mark of the beast.

Ok, so maybe I am adding some fuel to fire and anyone is really welcome to answer this as long as flames aren't involved.
First off, the hypothesis that the UFO sightings are the work of fallen angels is one of the more intelligent hypothesis' to this matter. (I've heard a lot, even some going as far as to depict a war against the alien and ki wielding bigfoot soldiers.)
Now going on what you have posted, is this to say that everything we have seen/discovered, (planets, 'roids, comets, KBOs, stars, galaxies, etc) is the work of the Satan? I am simply asking, because I don't have to go into detail the awesome power of God's work. And I have a feeling we have only witnessed a small part of that power written within the Bible and with life itself.
Not trying to sound combative with this, just looking for an explanation is all.

No, the celestial objects themselves are not the work of satan at all. they are the Creation of God, and the heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1) He made all the stars, planets, comets, etc. However we know when Adam sinned it brought a curse upon not just man, but creation as well.
Satan uses whatever he can get his dirty hands on to corrupt the beautiful things of God. If satan can get us believing there are aliens out there, and creating evidence thats acceptable to scientists and astronomers, he'll do it. In modern times its his best trick. Everyones obsessed with space and the possibility of life beyond earth. Governments have spent billions on it!
I've researched the "alien" phenomenon extensively, both me & my wife have had alien experiences. People shouldn't dismiss these things simply because they never had such an experience. Rather, people should be thankful they haven't! But they shouldn't deny that it is real, and it is leading many astray. The alien teachings are doctrines of devils. Its a form of new age/old age mysticism that focusses ones attention on things other than Christ. They make us question whether we were created by an all powerful God, or if we were created by aliens who seeded earth by genetic manipulation. I for one will always believe we are created by God, and Christ will return to redeem the world from the curse of sin. There WILL be a new heavens and new Earth, we can count on that.
I really wish believers would take seriously the implications of the "Mark."
One thing we should know when the time comes is that God will reveal it to us. in the mean time we should beware that we are not subltely decieved systematicly and conditioned so that we would be willing to take the real mark of antichrist.

Threads kinda off topic. I guess I'm ****** to hell for accepting a piece of Tech. But honestly, it says "MARK". If its on your Forehead or RIght hand, its gonna be visable for all to see. So when they say, take this tattoo right there as well, I'll flee to the mountain and raise my army of bevers.

A mark that is visible to an electric scanner may not necessarily be visible to the naked eye. But everyone would still know whether or not a person had one because without it they couldn't even buy groceries!

We know Jesus will take us us, but Jesus also warned us to prepare for tribulation. What we will escape is the WRATH of God ~ thats a deffiinite!

Break out your concordance folks. "mark" can be an engraving or tattoo. computer chips are engraved, so are the hollograms on your credit card, so are the currancy bills. When you hand over your credit card to a merchant you are in fact "taking an engraving in your hand for the purpose of commerce". The "forehead" can be a metaphor for knowledge or memory. Have you memorized some government issued numbers to be used for commerce?
The social security act was almost not passed, because the congress was afraid it would be turned into a national ID and the mark of the beast. They specifically put a clause in there that the card and number were not to be used for identification. I wonder what has happened don't you?
It is very dissapointing to see Americans, and especially Christians, so eagerly accepting what is obviously an abomination to God. At what point will all of these commercial identifcation systems become the ultimate, final, damning form of Revelation? I suggest that we may not know that point. We will not recognise it. It will be just one more tiny step toward tyranny.
The statement that we should welcome the mark because it is a sign of our emminate departure is the most sickening thing I have ever heard.
If the acceptance of the mark is an act worthy of the lake of fire, then don't you think there is a principle at work that we should recognise? Maybe God is not too pleased with Christians gladly accepting the "almost" marks of today.
