Mark Kennedy home with the Lord

Semper brothers and sisters our brother and friend Mark Kennedy passed away earlier this month after a short battle with stage 4 Melanoma. It came on fast. He checked in to hospice care on 29 August. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Mark was a stalwart defender of God’s Word, the doctrines of Grace and spent a lot of time posting about the Glory of God’s Creation.

This warrior for the Lord will be sorely missed, but now his pilgrimage here on earth has ended and present with the Lord.

I'm grieved to hear of his passing. He possessed a remarkable intellect and curiosity that was noticeable. May God rest his soul.

Mark was awesome. A kind, charitable man, and a thoughtful poster. I am so glad that I was able to meet him. Christ, have mercy on him.

But from what I knew of him he was a friend of Jesus.

We were in correspondence often. Never met him in person. Chatted quite a bit about faith and family. We were in the same huge headquarters building in Iraq in 2007 but obviously did not know each other there.

He was a Transportation guy in the Army and worked similar jobs after he got out.

In private correspondence he was the same guy. Always calm, never letting anything get under his skin. Passionate for the Gospel. He will be missed. When he was diagnosed and given months to live it did not fluster him a bit. He continued his walk in private life and kept coming back here to discuss with others.

On August 29th he sent a PM saying chemo and immunotherapy was not working and he decided to go into hospice. Even then he said “let me get settled in and I’ll be back (to CF)” as he wanted to share a lot of his research with some here. Unfortunately he did not get that chance but I’m sure he used those last days getting his adult daughter set up. She was working with him at his job.

He was good checking in every week after his major surgery. So me and a few others did some checks of obits.

I mentioned his daughter. They were not in close contact until last year and reunited. Mark often asked prayers for her as she had a rough life. So please lift up prayers for his daughter.
