Marilyn Manson / Nirvana ??

Does anyone here listen to Marilyn Manson or Nirvana? Those are my two favorite bands. Although the lyrics are sometimes not so good for people to hear, their music is awesome.

I hope I'm not offending anyone by posting this. It shouldn't offend people. Manson is a human just like everyone else and I think he deserves a chance. And if you listen to his lyrics, he talks about how mean people are and how to deal with them. That's just what I get from his music.

I'm not a big Manson fan. I like some of Nirvana's music, but I think they're grossly overrated.

I like Manson. Very deep lyrics once you actually read and understand them. His past two albums have been huge disappointments, but Twiggy is back now and they said the new album will be very hard.

Wow I didn't expect so many replies but wow! I am glad I'm not alone.

Whether you love 'em or hate 'em their music is still out there and someone is listening to it. I sorta agree that they are overrated and mostly image... I too like Manson's lyrics. And Nirvana just has catchy tunes. I'm a pretty big fan of Kurt Cobain. I have 2 posters of him, one Kurt Cobain Unplugged figurine of him, and one other poster that's smaller and made out of a thicker piece of paper (thicker than a regular poster).

Manson is quite normal off stage. Try schooling up on information before you post hogwash in threads.

Discussing his music, true enough, bands need to evolve and change over years. Bands that keep the same sound for a decade get boring. Unfortunately, some bands don't change for the better. Since Twiggy left, the past two albums have been horrible. Now that Twiggy is back, the new album coming I have high expectations for.

Manson's music bores me, and i'm not into that style of music, and Nirvana? i've never been a huge fan of Nirvana. they have great songs, but they aren't anything special to me. to me, Alice in Chains was the best grundge band and Nirvana is on the middle part/lower part of the list.

your not offensive to me, and i hope your not offended by me here. those two bands i don't have much of an interest in and never saw what people see in them.

The Unplugged album is probably my favorite at the moment. I loved Nirvana when I was younger and I have a lot of their stuff, but I'll admit to not listening to them a whole lot anymore. It doesn't speak to me in the same way it used to. I was very much a different person back in my teen years - very, very angry & bitter. "Come As You Are" is definitely a keeper though. I love that song, along with a slew of other oldies.



Manson, I'm not a HUGE fan of. I honestly think he's pretty full of himself, but... he's Hollywood, so what is there to expect? I do like "Disposable Teens" though. I think it explains a lot. Also, I like "Dance of the Dope Hats" & their rendition of "Sweet Dreams."
Again, I listened to Manson a lot as a teenager, but it just doesn't speak to me like it used to. When I had the Smells Like Children album, it creeped me out that I would even buy something like that. I'm scared of my teen years... I actually crushed on Twiggy back then, too.

I do wish Marilyn Manson would tour around here b/c it would be a pretty good Friday night show, I think. Oh well. Sorry, I can't add much to this discussion lol.

Yah, another completely ignorant post from someone who obviously doesn't understand the concept of what satanic worship is, nor understands that these bands aren't satanic.

I listen to some of Nirvana's songs and long as the lyrics are not questionable,but that goes for every artist or band.I do my best to filter and choose what music I listen to,music is very influential and can affect thinking patterns.

I think each man had brought back that "finger in the air' attitude to popular music.Kurt gave us new road far away from "hair metal",told MTV where to stick it as far as an amazing "unplugged"set should go.I mean that took some big stones playing obscure songs rather than your hits.Marilyn,he brought shock back to music and may have saved metal.Either way,both must be important if we still talk about them.They're from the 90's..Who's this decade's spokesperson?Brittney?Justin?I guess Eminem has somethin to say,he's alright....The rest are mostly useless.
