Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I believe that it is immoral to smoke, only because we are to be under the law, as stated above. I don't think smoking is inherently immoral, though.

Some would say that the body is a temple, and that we shouldn't put harmful things into it. To those of you, I would ask: Do you abstain from artificial colors, flavors and preservatives that are added to foods? Do you only drink organic milk that has not been treated with hormones? Do you only eat organic meat? Do you avoid partially hydrogenated oils, which are SO bad for you? Do you eat 5-9 servings of fruits and veggies per day??

I realize that we are to take care of our bodies, but you cannot apply that only to "drugs" and whatever. You need to make sure that you have no room for someone to call you a hypocrite.

I think that weed should definately be totally legal. That said, I will confess that cannibis use has caused me some personal problems, however, the vast majority of stoners that I know have no problem with it at all. Think of it this way: Just because alcoholics exist, is no reason to ban alcohol.

Well, the way that people usually smoke pot gets more carcinogens into your body than an ordinary filtered cigarette. Marijuana isn't addictive at all, I've experimented with it (with friends, always have friends with you) and it hasn't had any noticable negative effects of me.
It most certainly is addictive and I can say this as an addict. Its not as severe an addiction as with nicotine or opiates, but it is an addiction and its a serious problem for some people.

Do you have actual physical cravings for it, as with cigarettes? Or is it more psychological? For me, it's become a habit to smoke in the evening. I don't have a physical craving for it, but I don't like when I don't have any. I've become used to doing it each night.

Addiction to cannibis is largely psychological, it doesn't stop it from being an addiction. While I don't physically crave, I start to feel shaky and paranoid after a few days without, its not a pleasant feeling.

yeah thats how church should be!

and, no it is not addictive, people have addictive personalities: some are prone to become dependant on things that make hem feel good.

The fault lies not in this wonderful creation of God's, but in our own weaknesses, not knowing when enough is enough.
