I tried to make this a no obligation poll. Your vote will be anonymous, and I won't get mad if you don't comment.

I said legalize it. Put age limits on it, taxes, regulate it, but nonetheless legalize it. Alcohol is more harmful, and that comes from the mouth of a man who makes his own beer! Put out ad campaigns urging people to toke responsibly, don't get stoned every day.

I see no convincing reason why it should be illegal.

That doesn't mean that I would smoke it. I just don't see why it should be illegal.
I would love to try pot. I wouldn't get stoned. I would quit when I'm buzzed, like I do with my homemade beer.

i do smoke it, problem is.. i cant actually regulate it well enough to do that.

how a person reacts is dependant on their individual physiology. You may not like it! (depending on how i react, sometimes i dont)

do you realize that in America, we make 750,000 arrests each year for possession of marijuanna?

Do you realize how much time it takes for our police to stop tens of millions of people, search millions of people, in order to make arrests on 750,000 of them?

then add the time it takes to drive 750,000 smokers to the jail, book them, guard them, appear at their trials, drive them to prison, etc?

HOw many police hours is lost on enforcing marijuanna laws?

How many real criminals, how many violent criminals, rapists, murderers, robbers, pedophiles, etc are going free because our police dont have time to go after violent criminals who actually hurt people because they are too busy with smokers?

I say legalize it. I never used marijuana, but I don't drink or smoke tobacco either. They are just as bad as marijuana and there is actual medicinal value to marijuana, so I think it's foolish to keep it illegal. I think the government kind of killed their argument with their anti-marijuana commercials because then marijuana comes off no worse than alcohol. I think alcohol is more dangerous, and prescription drugs recently have been very deadly, so I see no reason to keep marijuana illegal.

Luckily most of that stuff doesn't happen anymore. Marijuana in most areas has been decriminalized and it's simply just a ticket. But, good point.

Let me explain why I think it should be legal.

1.) Alcohol is bad for you if you abuse it.
2.) Marijuana is exactly the same way.
3.) Prohibition of Alcohol didn't work.
4.) Prohibition of marijuana isn't working.

Conclusion: I wouldn't suggest smoking pot, just like I wouldn't suggest drinking. If you want to, just do it in moderation. But it shouldn't be illegal.

Another important point in supporting the legalization of marijuana is that it's cousin the Hemp plant is also illegal in the United States because they look almost indentical except the Hemp plant has no THC which is the chemical substance which induces euphoria. The Hemp plant is perhaps the most useful and valuable plant on this entire planet. Every single part of the plant can be used- the fibers create rope and cloth which is strong and durable. And compared to an acre of cotton the Hemp produces a great deal more than cotton with no chemicals necessary. The Hemp seed is perhaps the single most nutritious thing on earth- the nutty flavored seeds are extremely high in a balanced protein and they contain higher concentrations of the Omega oils than even flax seed. Once again for making cloth, paper, rope or as a food source this plant which grows like a weed (no pun intended) produces more acre for acre than any other competitor. But- it is illegal because the US Govt. believes it is a dangerous drug!? 2 of my family members have been continuous marijuana users for over 30 years and they are both very productive and healty individuals in their respective communities. Oftentimes the same cannot be said for alcoholics.
