  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My greatest joy and true herald of spring are the Spring Peepers
It is awesome to hear the chorus of Collective spring peepers calling from the beaver pond behind our home :)

That is one busy :D duck. Two of our neighbors have a pond with these fish. Another neighbor has peacocks & fancy :thumbsup:pheasants. Let's see if I can find a picture...
We once had a pet pheasant (Fred) that we used to train our bird dogs (English Springer Spaniels).

And speaking of peacocks....a pet one wandered from a neighbor's yard a few streets over (we had no idea they had it, and it came traipsing through our yard.
I couldn't believe my eyes...it is WILD here but I have only seen those in zoos ^_^
Thankfully Fish & Game rounded him up before he became a meal for our coyotes

I hope that their hunting... ^_^, FRED  survived

Also, I never knew she had these BEAUTIFUL  birds until,
yes! out in the WILD, they appeared in our property day in & day out,
casually strolling down the narrow 2-lane hiway pecking at this or that, and
putting on their festive  Display...I asked our other neighbor friends up the road, & they clued :) me in.

We also have neighbors with goats, bunnies, turkeys, cows, Llama's, donkeys, horses, & all kinds of other animoos.

It was actually funny to watch, as the guys let Fred go in the yard, then the dogs....Fred would LIE DOWN so they could 'retrieve' him ^_^
The dogs would gently pick him up in their mouth and deliver him back....they were great friends

Sadly a fox got him one spring :( the frost lifted the lock on the gate and in he went.
But we have wonderful memories...and he must have made a good meal for those kits :)

Aawww how sad, poor Fred :(. - I can't stand to think about friends leaving..., even as they get to romp someplace else.
and
man! that is really TRUST ;) Fred obviously knew he was with friends...
This is similar to animals in general: my daughter got birds, & deer to come up, much closer than they allowed others. They knew she had only love...This earlier picture

reminded me of those times

Yes they do know; we also have many tales to tell about deer and other critters! :)

We have had herds of deer in the yard, allowing us to go in and out of the house...talking to them.

They even trusted years back, that the dog was on her runner and not a threat ....and would feed just yards from her.

It is amazing and very humbling when that happens

Minus the waterfall, our creek/brook looks alot like that...
in late winter & particularly Spring, turning more than an acre into ^_^ Wetlands... but
on the higher bank, on the other side many areas look just like this:
