• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I notice often when I have a few beer and spend some time here on CF, then I get EXTREMELY sentimental and my hearth is really bursting with love for other. I often start crying for nothing, and I am really doing all I can to show others how much I care. But when I get down to a more stable mood again, it feels like I've been overdoing stuff, that even if I really love people around me, then it probably seem so extreme that some people might think that I am pretending or something.

Any of you get manically from drinking? I am not talking about getting drunk (then I get completely screwed mentally), but just a few beers.

You doing REALLY Good, my friend!

Please understand that God is filling you with love - but please watch-out that you don't give it away to alcohol - stay thankful and free - enjoy and relax at times but don't drink to become loving as then you will loose your love to drink in The End - just a few no worries though! Better than being deeply depressed!

Weed, alcohol, chocolate, coffee - anything created good really, helps us to feel goodness better - that is why wrong tries spo hard to get it. Remember you may freely eat and drink from God's paradise - it has been fully pre-paid - but please do not abuse His loving good and say sorry if you do fall!

Praise God when you feel like this my friend, that is how I broke the camels back, praising God when I was manic feeding on His goodness - yet please stay grounded doing that - and give God the honour for feeling loving, not created things - He is merely telling you this works for you at this moment in time. Praise God with a sincere heart, that's what counts, and refuse The Accuser control over your life - Jesus loves you to death if you do that - Dragon of a Beast - don't you reckon?

(And so we enter in weakness and poverty into His Kingdom, as in our weak selves of being we surrender to Christ before the strong, rich and able realise what's going on - good riddance of such riches anyway - weakness is worth TOP NOTCH treatment in the Bible and in Heaven, just look at the Cross - He is The True Lamb of God!

1 John 3

19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 2324 Those who keep his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

Hmm, alcohol is a depressant thus it does alter mood, sometimes even in reasonable amounts. . .I personally do not care for the taste anymore so have no true input for you.

Yes this is so true Alcohol is a depressant so I don't drink much and never when depressed.

But like our dear brother finds, it is good to get us through our manic times, making us more content and relaxed than otherwise - if we don't surrender to drinking bouts of course!

Though alcohol doesn't often work for me - I drink once in the blue moon, but I do drink more often when I'm slightly manic and tense or physically sore - works great like this.

Like the Bible says drink a little wine - take the tension off - in other words. As spiritually drinking wine means inner gladness in salvation!
(Please ALWAYS remember the avenging angel is not allowed to touch the oil and the wine - as you can appreciate - anointing and gladness stay closewhen we do it right!):clap::clap:
