I don't worry about that at all myself, any more than I think bacteria was my distant relative. This you old agers do. So, let me see if I got the doctrine down a bit here. 'Bacteria ARE us, we are beasts, and apes are'us as well. Now, When the evo says we are on par with bacteria, he is wrong, but when he says we are equal to lizards, he is what, right?Ryal Kane said:...
So don't worry about whether cockroaches are equal to us. Bacteria ARE us.
There has to be a fact, before we can change that fact. Evolution is only true in the sense that it is a process that has happened, and does happen, to some extent. It started in Eden, with created creatures, and you can bet you life, and your wife that you will never ever be able to prove otherwise. That is the only sense 'evolution' is true. I will add here, 'creation in 6 days of the universe is true' as well.GoSeminoles! said:None of this changes the fact that evolution is true.
OK, so this guy is a whacko, who is quite honored in that he speaks at conferences, etc. There are always wack jobs who can take an idea and convert it to a twisted philosophy. How many times in history has religion been perverted to justify slavery, torture, or some other evil?
.. .Glad some evos know that. I'd have to say when I see someone like Pat Robertson call for assasinating latin leaders, if that story was true, I feel like saying 'you're fired'!
Good point. And on the flip side, there is Norman Borlaug. He is an American agricultural scientist and evolutionist who won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in greatly expanding crop yields in third world countries
There are many splits. Jesus had to split heaven to come to earth. The devil (depending on the interpretation) either did, or will have to split from heaven as well, cast to earth, mad as a wet hornet. Noah had to split the world, never to be seen by men there again. Christians soon have to split the world as well in the rapture. The mount of Olives will split in two, from east to west soon. (I heard a rumor there was a crack, or fault east to west on it already?) So many splits, so little time.TheBear said:Not possible...Remember the split?
Lot's of things have a place here, God made them. Doesn't mean they get equal rights, and say, if a million beings had to die, they ought to pick half humans, and half lizards.Nooj said:Of course lizards have as much a place on the planet as we do. It's their homes too isn't it?
In a literal sense, we are more than bacteria. Just like we are more than beasts. The evos need to step out of the box of looking only at the physical. I have air in my lungs, am I air? I may have water in my stomach, am I water? Some may have things in their bowels, are they that?Hydra009 said:...
Ryal Kane raises an interesting point - the human body is full of bacteria, plus each and every human cell is powered by an endosymbiotic bacteria known as mitochondria. Without bacteria, we'd all die very quickly. So yes, in a very literal sense, we are bacteria.
JohnR7 said:The Holy Spirit of God works though the church to restrain the world from destroying itself. That is why when the church age has come to an end, the church will be removed from the world, and will no longer be use by God to restrain.
2 Thes. 2:6-7
And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. [7] For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
JohnR7 said:Some people do not claim to be any more then the animals and like the animals they too will be destoryed.
2 Peter 2:12
But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption,
Well, the bible does speak of a nuclear war, and dreaded bio terror in the last days. Take your pick, now the evos are prophesying as well, leaving God out, of course!JohnR7 said:...
I believe that within fifty years the world population will have been reduced to 10 percent of what it had been. I can not say 10 % of it's current number, because it will grow before it is reduced.
Just like there was a extinction before God repopulated the earth 6000 years ago. Even though we know that something went wrong back in the Garden of Eden and God's plans have been delayed a little bit. But His purpose will be served and He will get this earth back to His plan and purpose.
This I guess is your way to reconcile the bible with evidence. I understand. I like the split better, as it covers the future as well.

Right, this guy, I guess was booed out of the evo gathering then. Oh, wait, guess not...yasic said:Evolutionists come in many shapes and sizes
You can find evolutionists who donate alot to charity and do tons of community service
You can find evolutionists who are serial killers and murderers.

"Smarter people have fewer kids," Mims quoted Pianka as saying. Following the question-and-answer session, Mims says "almost every scientist, professor and college student present stood to their feet and vigorously applauded the man who had enthusiastically endorsed the elimination of 90 percent of the human population. "
It puts man as beasts, that says a lot.And while the theory of evolution says nothing about who should live and who shouldn't, some people interpret it (or more correctly use how the enviorment on the planet works and many other factors) to determine that people are evil and should die.
Personally, I don't believe in animal testing, generally. Maybe a canary at the coal mine or a few things. Not dolphins carrying explosives, etc, though. I hate the way they treat chickens, I think they ought to be pretty close to free range as possible. I think zoo animals should have huge huge areas. I think we ought to treat them as nicely as possible, as fellow creations. Not equals. Our fellow YEC are not so diffrent. I know sevral YEC who believe no animal but humans deserves any rights, and that all animals should be tortured, have their land removen, eaten, enslaved, or anything else that makes us happy. In fact we should not even worry about if all the animals will die out in a couple hundred years, as hey, we wont be here then, right?
Right, simply a neat factor, and ability His creations were equiped with, that seems to be drastically reduced after the flood time.LittleNipper said:If evolution exists at all, it likely explains why there are big, small, round, long, green, red and green tomatoes. It in no way explains why there are tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and peppers. The explanation is salad
I might agree with you if bacteria were just superfulous stowaways in the human body, and not essential part of every human cell. Furthermore, the eukaryotic cell itself is just a prokaryotic (bacterial) cell with a nucleus and organelles. So in a very real sense, all human cells (and all eukaryotic plants and animals) are essentially variants of bacterial cells.dad said:In a literal sense, we are more than bacteria. Right, so our physical bodies are 70% water, with a healthy dose of bacteria, and a bit of air, minerals, and the odd virus. "We" are more than the sum of our physical parts. If I drive a car, I am not, say, a honda. I am a being inside that assemblege of parts. Our body is an assemblege of parts as well. The classification of men as animals is something bestowed by those who do not understand we are more than water, and bacteria!Hydra009 said:I might agree with you if bacteria were just superfulous stowaways in the human body, and not essential part of every human cell. And actually, yes, you (and every other living human being) are about 70% water.
Just a bact sack, eh?Frumious Bandersnatch said:Man may think he is the pinnacle of God's creation but in reality we are all just walking incubators for billions of bacteria and mobile habitats for countless tiny bugs.
