I'm curious to know what the general male to female ratio is at your church. Also, if you are male, what do you think it is about church that draws men away? I've read that there are a lot more women who go to church than men but I haven't noticed it that much in my church.

I don't have actual numbers but I believe it is around 50/50. There are all ages at our church as well.

There's a "new line of thought" out there about this. It isn't that men who don't attend church (and you're right -- in the US most church attendance is split 40/60 men to women) aren't religious. It is that such a man is practicing a "new religion" -- the Religion of Masculinity. Everything this man does, from work to hobbies to even his addictions, is designated to prove to the world he is a man. Perish the thought that he would do anything that could cause someone to question his manhood. Deep in his heart, this man thinks church is something for women and children, not men.

This actually isn't "new" but has been around for centuries.
“There has got abroad a notion, somehow, that if you become a Christian you must sink your manliness and turn milksop.” --Charles Spurgeon
This isn't biblical. Think of Moses and Elijah, David and Daniel, Peter and Paul. They were lions, not lambs — take-charge men who risked everything in service to God. They fought valiantly and spilled blood. They spoke their minds and stepped on the toes of religious people. They were true leaders, tough guys who were feared and respected by the community. All of these men had two things in common: they had an intense commitment to God, and they weren’t what you’d call saintly.

Where are these men today? Home on Sunday, watching football.

Close to 50/50

They aren't saved.
I've read that there are a lot more women who go to church than men but I haven't noticed it that much in my church.

That doesn't mean more women are saved.
