Hello all, My name is Paul. I listed as Non-Denominational because that is my personal feelings. I attend regularly an Independant Baptist Church and have for about five years..but I have not joined and probably never will but consider it my home church. We support it with our tithes and offerings. So much for me, now about the tracts. I have written and printed out a 15 page booklet about 3x41/2 inches. I used some color in it. I am pretty pleased with the results. If anyone is interested in doing the same just do a search on 'making tracts on your printer' and you will find all kinds of info on how to do it. If you don't want to write your own there are some sites that allow you to download and print theirs for free. It is fun and a useful work for the Lord.

About my wife and I. We are musicians in our church. I sing and play slide guitar and my wife plays electric bass. We are a regular part of our music team here. I played standard electric guitar for many years before rheumatoid arthritis twisted my hands badly. I asked our pastor to pray that God would heal my hands so I could play my guitar in church. After about a month and my hands showing no sign of improvement...God gave me this thought...why not use a steel bar and play like a hawaaiian steel guitar. I bought a string riser for my guitar and a steel bar and was playing in church in a couple of weeks. Shortly after that my wife brought her bass playing up to speed and joined me on our music worship team.
Praise God...I think I play slide better than I did standard guitar..but it is all Gods handiwork and I give Him all the credit and glory. He has also worked over my 68 year old voice box and I am singing better than I have at any time in my life!
Again Praise God for His beatiful touch on peoples lives.
Maranatha!

God Bless you Paul!! Your ability to find good in the adversity of life, or should I say letting God work his will through you, is inspiring.

I think I will try your suggestion and make a few tracts on my pc, since I'm pretty good with graphics and writing. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Ha! I never would have thought of using a slide as an alternative. Praise God for that bit of wisdom. I'll have to keep that in mind if I start developing arthritis... Of course, i'd also have to get good at slide guitar...

A tract is a personal ministry of leading to salvation with a small pamplet or a message of encouragement or a specific bit of christian wisdom for others to read and learn or enjoy. My tracts are about 2 x 3 1/2 inches size with about 15 pages including cover and back page.

Believe it or not, I was just thinking about this two days ago! I am oftentimes disappointed with commercial tracts( they don't say exactly what I am thinking sometimes), and was wondering if this was even do-able. Thanks for answering my questions!

I don't use any program I just use my printer, copier, scanner. I manually lay out how the pages must appear and just cut it in the appropriate places to form the pages. This system is called pagination where you lay out the pages on a sheet of paper front and back. I can get four pages per cut across an 81/2 x 11 sheet printed front and back.
It is a worthwhle effort if you have a message you want to share.

Got my second tract ready, titled..Living with the Holy Spirit. Working on art work for the cover before printing it up. Gonna redo the artwork on, Sharper than any two edged Sword, and then print a batch of them. Our pastor is excited with them. maybe I have found another niche to work from.
