I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I would like to provide instructions for those who are challenged with the tast of making a point without making an enemy.
Polite ways to respond to someone who disagrees with you:
"I can see your point, but in my experience I feel as though xyz..."
"I sort of have a different take on that. Because of my experience with x, I didn't feel as though you can do y..."
"The Lord's scripture shows us in verse xyz that we should be doing abc. I interperet this situation as applicable to that verse because..."
Great ways to make a point while making an enemy
"thinking like that will send you right to hell"
using this gremlin
after quoting someone
"anyone who believes that/thinks that/enjoys that must be totally ignorant"
I've been visiting this board for a few months now and am pretty shocked as to how people treat each other regularly. I am a member of several non-Christian boards as well (professional boards) and people are so much more civil. It could be that Christianity is a much more heated topic and is more personal than professional matters, which I can understand. But PLEASE for the sanity of those around you think about how you are going to say what you are going to say before your post in disagreement!!!
