• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's a tricky situation, and, as the article mentions, doesn't just apply to prostitution but to other jobs that many deem offensive, such as phone sex operator and working for a phone company. I could also see Planned Parenthood falling in this category.

At least in America (I can't speak for Germany), I would think there would be some kind of exception made for those who refuse a job on religious grounds.

I'm all for the legalization of prostitiution, but it should be voluntary much like joining the military. There should be parameters and regulaton specifying who may join and who may not(yes, they can discriminate). Forcing a woman to work at a brothel as a prostitute is akin to state sponosred rape. Very bad indeed.

If a women drug addicted who was rape as a 9 year old child by five men while her mother looked on and ask if she was enjoying it and while her mother’s boyfriend put out cigarettes on her skin, prostitutes herself 20 times a day with fat ugly bald old men with BO, halitosis, and Genital Warts. So that she can go and get her next hit of drugs, to help her forget the misery of her life.

If she is over 18, not being physically or psychologically coerced, and is neither mentally retarded nor severely mentally ill, then yep, it counts as consent.

In her case though, an examination by a licensed mental health professional might result in a determination that she is suffering from PTSD or some other psychological disturbance and thus not able to provide rational consent.

This is why we have a thing called charities. To help people in the above situation.

Many Christians, myself included, believe that many things we would not personally do should be legal.

The alternative to legal prostitution isn't that there's suddenly no prostitution; it's that prostitutes are systematically abused by both pimps and cops, and can get protection from neither.

in that case we should make Child Prostitution legal at once.

Who said anything about a woman being raped, or drug usage, or anything remotely relating to the above response? BTW, please stop yelling.
