Major New Feature: CFIM - The CF Instant Messenger!

For some people who when they click on CFIM and get the homepage, that is a bug - I am looking into it.

Do you realise that if you click on your own name in the 'avalable' list you can actually have a conversation with yourself? I'll never be lonely again!

how do I get names into my buddy list?

Click on a person's name and go to "profile." You'll find two links there that say "Add to Buddy list" and "Add to ignore list"
Click on "Add to buddy List' and follow directions. Then when you log on and look at 'Who's online' You'll see a picture of two 'people' next to their name.

I can't use the IM system yet til that "homepage" bug is fixed though... doesn't matter, since I don't really plan to use it often anyhow. But I think it's great that this IM feature is available for everyone who wants to take advantage of it. It's an addition to a wonderful site!

Disable your popup blocker, or Google toolbar.

That's a really weird bug, that I am going to have to work on.

Folks, I have Google toolbar, and if you click on the popups button while on the CF homepage, it will give you the option to allow popups just for this site, while still blocking them for all others.

It works perfectly

LOL I had to do that with my Google toolbar, my Yahoo toolbar, and my Norton. Now it works. Boy, what a relief since it was pretty pathetic when I couldn't even get myself to want to talk to me

Works fine for me even with google toolbar. I didn't change anything though.

I dunno if its Opera 7.50, my 56k, or the chat itself, but it lags something gosh-awful for me. It's barely usable.

Erwin, this is simply amazing. I never thought we would have a IM on here. You are one amazing person. That's why I chose you to be the "person I wanted to meet most on CF" in the teen forum.

And I am not just saying that. I mean it! This site is one of the most (if not the most) successful Christian fourms on the net!

I still get the homepage when the CFim window opens up.

I'll work on this issue tonight. Try again tomorrow - it's a cookie bug that's affecting a minority of users.
