  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What I believe in is truth, at least as close as we can get....and I don't see "mainstream Christianity" as being followers of the truth. Mainstream doctrine, in large part, doesn't even agree with Biblial fact, and apparently they cannot even get the day of crucifixion correct (Wednesday, not Friday)........in this day and age, HOW do we know WHAT to believe?

Euphoria......you are correct, the Bible doesn't specifically state "Wednesday" as being the day of crucifixion, nor does it specifically state "Friday," either. One must take the facts, sequence of events, anad evidence and "put them together." Most people do not do this, and simply follow "tradition." Tradition, being a man-made product of the church, and usually formed long after the N.T. was written, is not always correct.

Consider: Jesus' entry to Jerusalem takes place on what we would call "Sunday." (Palm Sunday in tradition, and this is correct...at least they got that right!) Then, "after two days" was the Passover....the two days being Monday/Tuesday, making the Passover on Wednesday. The day following Wednesday was a "special Sabbath," and was in fact the First Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, but no one seems to "pay attention" to John's emphasis on this (John 19:31). The women "bought/prepared spices" to anoint Jesus' body....and they did this on Friday (the only day they could have done it!). Saturday was, of course, the regular Sabbath, and the tomb was empty prior to sunrise on Sunday.

Consider also that Jesus gave specific prophecies concerning his time to be spent in the tomb, and these MUST be completed precisely or he was a liar and we can just throw away the Bible and forget about it! Matthew 12:39-40 specifically requires three nights, and three daylight period to be spent in the tomb....the Hebrew language is specific as to the requirements. Mark 8:31 also requires three full 24 hour periods to be spent in the tomb. The ONLY way these prophecies can be completed as uttered is for the crucifixion to have taken place Wednesday afternoon, and the resurrection to have taken place prior to sunrise on Sunday.....and that is exactly what happened (so we can hang onto our Bibles after all!).

I cannot post reference links, since I don't have enough posts yet, but you can "Google search" and find dozens of references showing the crucifixion had to have taken place on Wednesday.

One cannot begin with a "Friday" crucifixion and get three nights/days in the tomb, nor does a Friday crucifixion meet the requirements of the facts/evidence given in the Gospels themselves....."Friday crucifixion" is a man-made tradition (out of the Roman Church) that didn't even begin untill a couple hundred years after Christ's death.

One must "pay attention" to detail, examine all the views and facts, and not just assume that "tradition" is always correct. (Nor should one assume tradition is always "incorrect," either....sometimes tradition is correct, sometimes it isn't.) We are not to follow the church "blindly," but rather are to "examine all things." Man-made traditions are often incorrect, the Bible (God's Word) is not!!!!!:preach:

Everything is mainstream unless you are comforted by knowing exactly what the truth is. Reading the Bible or any other material of any of any other religion are just words if we cannot FEEL the truth. I know this for a fact because I have been a Christian for 24 years and knew God's love, and read the Bible, but did not feel the truth until I was 29. I received the Holy Spirit one night when I told God that I just wasn't getting an answer. I couldn't FEEL that my prayers were even being listened to! After that I lay down. I can't tell you what time it happened, but a powerful force took over my body. IT felt as though a cool, clean source was alive in me. Tears streamed down my face and my lips were moving as the spirit was with in me and it said, " YOU CAN HAVE ANYTHING YOU DESIRE!" It was the promise of the comforter. After that, NO ONE can tell me anything that God says is a lie because I didn't read it, I didn't only believe it I FELT IT!. It is so very Positive!! No one can shake what what was given to me. You need to know anything? ask God until you GET an answer. don't let go until you are heard!
