  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Name: Maggie Simms

Age: 15

Grade: 10th (sophmore)

Personality: She's rebellious, Adventurous, a leader (though she doesn't know it until later), outdoorsy, a bit hyper at times, trained her dog, Sophie, brave, a bit shy, but normally outgoing, smart, photographic memory, and basically, your average teen.

Background: She came from Madisonville, Washington, where she had been living for most of her life. Her dad told her she would be moving to Iowa about 2 months in advance. Her parents tried to discuss it calmly with her, but her dad, never the one to beat around the bush, told her the news streight out. After he had told her, she blocked everything else that they said, out. She had gotten up and walked away when it had just been too much to handle. She told her friends a month later, when they had noticed her zoning out just one too many times. The last two weeks before they had to leave, she started to see signs of a move everywhere. boxes, missing items, emptier spaces. Maddie is an only child, so she doesn't have a sister or brother to fight with or share a room.
