  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tons of people, are killed each year by Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Tsunami's, Earthquakes, Volcanoes. Lives are ruined, souls are lost, and people lose hope.

Don't let a rainy day ruin your whole week. Things with God are happening within four dimensions. We can only try to comprehend 3. God is on a totally different level then we are. He knows what to do how to do it, and why to do it. His plan is perfect. He is perfect. If he is perfect, that he can do no wrong. If he can do no wrong, he cannot make any mistakes, if he doesn't make any mistakes... then it was suppossed to rain on that day. Why? I don't know. But God does.

There are people starving to death in 3rd world contries, who have little or nothing to wear on their backs, and are lucky to have some clean water to drink. Did they want this? No. Did they ask for it? No. But, does their suffering someway, somehow, become good? We'll see. We must have faith, and hope.

[QUOTE... i just feel like the past five years have been a waste of my time and i would be better off just not bothering with trying to live like a christian, it ain't helped nothing [/B][/QUOTE]

Hi GG. Your prayers for the past five years have been conversation with God, which is never a waste of time.

I have a question for you. When your parents come to Christ, will you continue to "try to live like a christian"? Or will you figure that you won't need to do that anymore, since it worked to get your parents saved? Your life as a Christian needs to be lived for God, not for the purpose of getting your parents saved.

I understand your disappointment, and your frustration. I've been there many times. Some day you will look back and see this as a time of growth for you. Don't let the enemy talk you into giving up!

I honestly don't think that it's a sin that godsgurl is angry. In fact, she is just being honest and I think God appreciates honesty! Look at the book of Psalms and how King David lamented and even complained over his troubles. God saw his troubles, his heartaches and worked to comfort him! I think it's a little judgemental to reprimand GG like that tabitha. give the girl a break!

God'sgurl4ever, I can't stress how much we have in common. Why be angry at God though? Because it rained? Maybe, it should have occured to you that somewhere else in the city, a farmer might have lost his job, his life, and his faith if not for what he may have prayed for, rain. Romans 8:28 sis. I cannot drive, sometimes spend the night, or go with friends, because my dad, a former Catholic now athiest, is afraid I'll go to church. He knows of me wanting to go into the ministry, and it makes him angry. He threw out all my books and Bibles before, and is not afraid to do it again. I do it in secret, be glad for what you have. This is the first and last time I want to disclose this info.

What you went through never happened to me exactly, but we've all been through something worse. God has plans for your parents. It is not you or the play who does any work. Think of what Christ did on the cross, and what He's given you. God bless, TTYL Jesus loves you! (we'll pray for you)

I must defend Tabitha and say that to be angry at God for ruining a vacation is pretty silly. Is God beckoned by your say-so? Try again, sister.

To be angry in this situation would to focus only one's OWN situation, and not the wellbeing of thousands, if not millions of other people because of the perhaps much needed rain. It is likewise foolish to believe that this is the only chance to let them hear the Gospel. Being mad at God for this is like the sailor complaining that the sea is too blue.

Also, Satan CAN control the weather, but with God's permission. In the book of Job, God grants Satan the ability to control weather to a limitation and generally ruin things for Job and his family. God does ultimately have control, though.

Anyone who becomes mad at God over circumstances in life needs to read Job extra carefully. Read particularly Chapter 38 through the end.

God indeed loves you, but you must recognize the needs of others over you. As the saying goes, "There's your plans, and then there's God's plans."

Also, you probably (and most likely) don't know the full and complete story of your parents' relationship with God, if any. At some point in their lives that may have already heard it a dozen times already. Then, as was this last time, was not the appropriate time for them. The best you can do is pray. Anger will solve only the obstacles of the devil.
