• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I don't know where to post this, since there's always somebody protesting that "true Christians" shouldn't listen to secular music. In case anyone is interested, this is an article on how breakout artist Macklemore is a recovering addict and active in his recovery:

I am glad to see an entertainer who refuses to glorify drug and alcohol abuse.

Thanks for posting that. It's another reminder that addiction crosses all lines. The Rich the Poor, the successful and those who seem void of ambition-can all have the same struggles...

I personally don't know anyone who does not know SOMEone who has been affected by either addiction itself or the ripple effect of the addict. It's pandemic...and an issue the Christian community has needed to get more involved in for years. There is nothing more christian than supporting recovery and breaking these generational cycles. The enviornment won't matter..if we loose the people. IJS

One in four families are affected by alcoholism alone..1 in 4...

I am a true Christian, and I listen to all types of music. I'm also in AA, and sober more than three years. To be honest, I never heard of Macklemore. I happen to know that many of the old rock and roll artists are in recovery. Have been for years.

God bless.

Time takes time and I am glad to see some them were able to make it long enough to actually participate in recovery and Still enjoy success in their chosen professions.

Many are public faces for AA and the 12-Steps which has been a blessing as well.
