  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

:hi:

So the people in singles have pretty much sold me but I want YOUR opinions now.

Do you have a MacBook? Do you like it? Not like it? Pros & Cons?

If you dont have a MacBook would you get one? Why/why not?

Poll as well!

First...I need to know what sort of things you do the majority of the time on your computer.

I have two MacBooks; I love them both. The only real problems I have had with my MacBooks are 1) there's no mouse (all laptops, right? ;)) and 2) the cord for my MacBooks has had to be replaced twice. I think they fixed the issue now, but there was some problem with a slow melting right near where it connects into the laptop. Also, the Macs get VERY hot, so a cooling pad is pretty much necessary.

I would buy another Mac product, and probably will, but next time I think I will actually get the desktop model. I had forgotten how handy a mouse is when doing graphic work and the like. :)

You can buy a regular USB wireless mouse for almost nothing (I found this one on Amazon for ~$10, and it's styled like a Mac mouse). Apple doesn't lock you down to using only their mice with any of the Mac models (I just used the Kensington mouse my mom got for her Vista laptop with their iMac this morning, I've even connected my wired Microsoft mouse to the iMac before, and it didn't have a problem with it).

Thanks; I know you can buy a mouse, but I consider it a small con that it doesn't come with one. I think it should be included in the bundle, but...it's all personal preference. :)

From all I've heard they're a great product, but I don't have one, and I doubt I would get one due to how high priced they are. If anything I would get a regular laptop instead, but that's just me. I'm still using a desktop for everything at this point, you can get a more powerful machine for a lot cheaper that way.
