CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've had a couple of good friends here just disappear, too. I've seen others at some of the newer start-up forums, so I get to see them somewhere, but some have just disappeared. One that I miss a lot is Carmi. We were good friends and were on staff together, but she just disappeared. I left a couple of messages on her profile, and saw she had checked her profile a few months ago, but she didn't post or respond. It is just really sad to lose someone so completely and know that you have no other way to see if they are OK.

This was my first internet forum for anything and the one all others are measured by~I drop in at a couple of other Christian forums (none I've ever seen mentioned around here) but this is the big kahuna...or at least the shadow of what once was..

Sometimes. There are a few people who used to post in theology that I wonder where they are but otherwise I'm good about that.

Does anyone know what happened to newguy? I think he had an ending to his name but can't remember. He was very active in CC at one point. I remember him to be very outspoken and passionate. Is he still around?

Carmi was such a nice person; and there never was a better 'mod' than BevlinaOne that I miss a lot is Carmi. We were good friends and were on staff together, but she just disappeared.

Yes, Eric left for personal reasons that I am not at liberty to share. But I can tell you that his reasons were good and honorable, and for the best. I miss having him around too, though.

I did hear from Rhamiel~~he's away from school and doesn't have internet at home so he stopped in at the library and dropped a note. My folks don't have it either, and come to think of it neither do my brothers...life's a little slower in the nation's heartland I guess
